I have a question and do not want to hijack the post,
but does benadryl lower test levels?
I ask this because I take anywhere from 100mg to 200mg (4 to 8 pills) of benadryl a day, depending upon the season for allergies. My only concerns of taking benadryl were having a slower metabolism and as a result gaining weight(which I have)and having to drink a lot more water and take electrolytes for better water balance and to avoid cramping.
And before anybody says why take benadryl, the simple reason is it works and I have tried everything under the sun including about 18 months of allergy shots, saline nose flushing, you name it, but the truth of the matter is that benadryl works.
benedryl is an antihistamine and will not lower testosterone levels.
I have been taking the ephedrine for six weeks and I have more caffeine than 250 mg a day more like 400-500mg a day usually.
I have felt adrenal fatigue before and know what you are talking about by the sick feeling.
It always went away after 2-3 days though and its been 10 days now and still there as to why I don’t think it has to do w/ the stimulants.
plus the adrenal glands only produce a very small amount of testosterone. It wouldn’t bring my levels down that low from non functioning adrenal glands from what I read.

I called my doctors office and told her I wanted a referral to someone that specializes in this type of issue. I feel tired and shitty (sick) ever since I stopped taking in ephedrine (I was only taking 25 mg at a time one time per day in the morning). I couldn’t give up my caffeine.
how long have you used ephedrine and caffiene daily?
You could be suffering adrenal fatigue. I don’t know much about it, but if you’ve abused stimulants and amphetamines, when you stop you will have that “sick” feeling.
How much caffiene have you been taking too? 10:1 ration of ephedrine and caffiene is normal, so where you taking 250mg caffiene a day? (which isn’t that much)
This would have little to do with T unless the adrenal glands are shot which are known to produce a little T if my physiology is right. lol Hopefully somebody who understands the topic better than I will clear things up.

Gerdy may be onto something here. I recently read CT stating that ephedra must be used sparingly - several times a week max if I remember correctly. Also, ephedra combined with significant caffeine amps up the chances of adrenal fatigue (as does excessive ephedra alone). A quick read of this article confirms that adrenal fatigue ramps up cortisol production which lowers total test and free test. It also slows metabolism. It does a lot of other crappy things too. Read this:

I would doubt that would be the cause too, but with a damaged nut, and your age, combined with damaged adrenal glands, combined with what the post about CT’s article, might combine for lowered test than normal.
as far as coming off of adrenal fatigue in a few days I doubt you had adrenal fatigue. I’ve never had it so i wouldn’t know, but to my understanding adrenal fatigue can take weeks to months to get over, often times requiring taking something to combat it. Much like I don’t get good sleep sometimes but that doesn’t mean I suffer from insomnia if you get what I’m saying. Before the 3 days of lag you experience was a minor case, or merely your body just coming off of stims or amphetamines.
I would just keep pushing your doctor to get you hrt, or find another doc and stay on their ass until they give it to you. lol
I’m no expert by any means, just trying to help to the best of my understanding.
As always, there’s a flipside and there are certain supplements that we want to run from. Supplements like yohimbine, caffeine, ephedra, or any type of stimulant isn’t going to do jack for us if we have adrenal fatigue. That means we also have to stay away from coffee or tea.
This is typically very hard for most of us to understand, since we all want to lose weight. Ephedra makes it nearly impossible to naturally see your lower abs. These stimulants provide a quick pick-up to your adrenal glands and cause an over-secretion of cortisol.
Very interesting since ephedrine became popular for losing weight. Seems like to supplement with ephedrine is very very bad for you.
Listen to the advice given, it is spot on. It is very possible to have low T at 27 even after fathering children.
And BRW, the only OTC that will truly impact test level is Tagamet. It also increases prolactin levels and some have reported gyno symptoms from this heartburn med!
its really hard to seek out information since there is a fucking study for everything. All theorys make sense and then are proven incorrect, not even sure what to trust anymore except onesself.
Its been 10 days now and I have not been taking any ephedrine. I tried stopping the caffeine too, but couldn’t take it. After getting 7-10hrs of sleep I wake up feeling like crap everyday. This morning was the worst I felt like I drank a case of beer last night when I haven’t drank in two weeks now.
I have an appt w/ another doctor that is the doctor for our indoor football league and hockey team in town on the 27th. What should I say to him when I meet with him to get him to write me a prescription that day to start helping me out?
