Test Injections for Women

Hi - I’m 49 and currently dealing with “the change” - I got a hormone panel done this week and my total testosterone is 21. My free T is .35

I struggle to lose body fat - I’ve gained 35 pounds the last 2 1/2 years. About 16 pounds lean mass according to a DEXA but my body fat is about 35% right now and I want to go back to 25%

Would an injection once a week help me to lose body fat? I want more energy, better sleep, and to lose body fat. I do currently lift heavy 5 days a week, I eat in a surplus currently (thus weight gain but I wanted to gain muscle).

If it would help, how much should I take? I do not want ill effects.

Please answer in kindergarten speak - I know next to nothing about this topic but my husband seems to think I should do it. I’m happy to learn more on my own if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

My understanding is limited for women. What I’ve heard is women tend to take 10% of what men do, which is normally around 100 mg to 200 mg of testosterone per week, so a woman would want around 10 to 20 mgs of testosterone per week.

Some men don’t do well with testosterone creams, but I’ve heard that women can.

Side effects for women that are possible: deepening of voice and increase in body and facial hair. This is likely due to testosterone converting to dht. You can avoid by lowering your dose oruaing a dht blocker. You’d probably expect to see increases in mood, energy and libido.

First step is to find a qualified doctor.

Bingo! Lots of private clinics Specialize in women’s hormones

As mentioned, find a hormone clinic, some TRT practices see both men and women. I’m about 30% women.

Women are interested in testosterone for the same reasons men are, increase energy, strength, lean muscle, look stronger and fit (decrease fat), and increase libido. Side effects if it is too high are oily skin, acne, facial hair, thinning hair, irritability and anxiety. Maybe 10-15% of the women I see have side effects.

Depending on your other lab results, I’d think about starting with a 8-10mg injection or 2-2.5mg daily cream. I’d get a complete hormone panel. Not sure I’d do this on my own, you guys are more complicated than men.

Good luck. HRT is game changer.

Any suggestions other than a doctor? I have zero faith in that option and will not be seeing a doctor. That’s why I’m asking here.

Private hormone clinics are not the same as a regular doctor. They specialize in hormones, it’s literally all they do. As stated above, women’s hormones are pretty wild, not as easy as a man jumping on some test.

I use the restore clinic (Justin groce), 95% sure he does women too. If not he’ll know a great clinic that does.

What about the old school method of;

Coming out of caloric surplus to lower body fat, Then allowing that drop in body fat to improve your sleeping and make you feel more energetic?

This^.

Kindergarten and HRT for women does not mix. If you won’t find an MD or DO then please do find a qualified NP to help educate you. @highpull has started by giving you some good advice but you aren’t really capable of understanding it yet.

Please seek appropriate medical supervision.

Please provide the rate on the injection amount so the op can understand the amount of ester to inject per unit time.

My lady is on HRT via a hormone specialist. As a woman, pellets are the better option, or injections will work as well, cream works too, but you can expect your clitoris to become enlarged. Not a bad thing since its a win-win from a libido standpoint. If you do injections or pellets, clitoris wont enlarge as much.
As for injections try to get Testosterone Cypionate. If I remember, I will call the doc tomorrow to see what is considered a weekly dose for female patients. Overdoing your dose will yield results with the risk of becoming andromorphic. Female HRT is far more complex than men so I’m learning about it through my wife’s experiences.

Thanks

I’ve already had a complete hormone panel, which again, is why I’m here.

What are the results? And provide units and ref ranges.

That is a once weekly dose.

Only seen that once from injections, and this woman’s husband (no ex) was injecting (underground source) her and for recreational purposes. Not rare with pellets, I think because they run levels so high. At least that’s what I see with woman coming over from pellet practices. I have not had a woman on injections or a cream report that, not that it has not happened. I think I’d hear about it though.

I see, I assumed you did not get a comprehensive study since you didn’t include it. Would be interested to know:

FSH
LH
E2
Progesterone
VitD
SHBG

Until hormones are optimal, fat loss isn’t going to happen like it did when you were young.

Hi Mary,

We are in TX too and my wife, who is 55, had the same issues you describe. After MANY MANY tries, she went to SynergenX and finally got relief. She is now on test/estrogen pellets and oral progesterone tablets.

Please do not attempt to inject yourself. Women need so much less than men, its best to see someone who has treated other women with success.

My own personal observation is somewhat voyeuristic and scientific in nature. When cream was prescribed, Applying it to the vulva and labia is the best for women. Applying it to the scrotum is best for men. With that said, within a month of use my sex serf’s clitoris had grown a few mm’s and arousal was obvious. Within 3 months she had a larger and erect clitoris during arousal. It was an interesting journey because I found myself researching this phenomena. That’s when we switched to pellets and things stabilized, within 4 months her clitoris decreased in size and length. So now were back to a smaller but full size that she’s not surprised with. Well… that’s not where the story ends. This woman who is 50yrs old, has played it safe all of her life. She started telling me about things she read, so I asked “show me” and she brings up Subreddit “enlarged clits”. In which women, are intentionally rubbing TestC on their clits to enlarge it. Want a larger clit? Topical T cream or oil works to enlarge it, and absorption is far better than a thigh or arm. HRT has been a man’s thing for a while and now its coming around for women.
OP: I lived in Dallas for 5 years, botox, and fake tits are the norm. If you go cheap, you can tell, and then you hate yourself for it. Go big and spend the 1.5k it will cost you in the first year. It should be half the 2nd year. It should then lessen and level off by the 3rd. Dont go cheap.
