My wife (55) post menopausal, got tested for T, and her levels are within range but low. She went to a hormone doctor, same office I go to, different doctor, and they suggested a 200 mg injection of cypionate once per month. Am I the only one who finds this insane? Everything I’ve read, says a safe level for women is 10mg-20mg per week.
No. This is classic malpractice.
Even lower. 5-7mg per week would be a true starter replacement dose and titrate up if needed.
Yes, this is correct. 5-10-20mg/wk is pretty standard starting place for women.
200mg 1x per month would completely fuck her up. I would love to hear the reasoning behind this. Even for a man this frequency is ridiculous.
I’m with @rusty_hammer, find a new doc that knows what they are doing before they turn your wife into a dude!!
Fucking hell no!
Try 5mg/wk and see how that goes. Youre better off splitting doses into two 2.5mg doses weekly.
10mg weekly is probably also fine, but safety is best so id start low.
Hows her estrogen and progesterone look?
My wife is on 8 mg test enanthate E3.5D (16 mg weekly). Works well at that level without virilization sides.
My wife went up to 15mg weekly test c but her skin was getting wrecked by the oil.
We also tried 15mg test p and that was definitely too much (prop is some 20% more potent than cyp).
Well, my wife showed me the directions for her prescription, and it’s not what she originally said. It’s actually 50mg per month, not 200mg. I think she was confused because she was prescribed a 1ml vial of 200mg/ml. But still, the instructions say,
“ Inject 50mg (0.25mL) into the muscle every month.”
Still a horrible protocol. I would split the dose into weekly, which is @12mg/week.
Yeah, 12mg weekly is fine - 50mg/mo is such a dumb way to write the prescription lol. She may feel better doing e3.5d, but she may also feel the same.
