Test Cyp Vial, Hole in Stopper

I am injecting E3.5D 50mg. My pharmacy gave me a 10ml vial of Test Cyp at 200mg/ml.

So basically I’m going to use this vial for a long time (a little over 5 months). When I did my infection a few minutes ago (5th one since I started) I notice that when I pulled the draw needle out of the vial the little hole didn’t close up all the way. So now there is a permanent hole in the top of the vial, and if I turn it upside down without a needle in it the Test will leak a tiny drop.

My question is, since this vial is now basically open air, will that make my Test go bad? I have to make this vial last a long time so that would suck if it’s going to go bad more quickly now?

I talked to my pharmacist and he said that this vial has a preservative, and that the first time you puncture it, it is basically considered open air. He looked up the data and they do not list a “use by” for after first puncture, so we can only go by the listed expiration date. If that’s true then I’m good. He said to also just keep an eye on it and as long as it doesn’t start looking cloudy or chunky then it’s still good. Just keep the vial upright so it doesn’t leak out.

What do you guys think? Am I safe or should I consider getting my scrip in 1ml vials next time?

The rubber top seals the moment you pull the needle out, if there is positive pressure when needle is pulled out, product will escape briefly until it seals up.

If you are removing .5ml than you need to inject that much air before you going to pull Test into syringe.

Thanks for responding.

I knew that and I do that as well. The problem is that the vial is not sealing back up. I have an 18g pin hole in the top of my vial now.

My question was is that going to ruin my Cyp that’s left in the vial beings that there is a small unsealed hole in the top now?

Does this make it more clear??

What size needle are you drawing with? I use to draw with an 18 or 21g but stopped that practice after reading on here. I now draw with the same needle I inject with, usually a 23 or 25g. It takes a little longer but it will help to avoid this issue. Not to mention I only draw from the same vial 3-4 times.

I use a 27 gauge insulin syringes when I’m not whale hunting with those 18 gauge harpoons my doctor originally gave me.

An 18 gauge is a nail.

I do use an 18g for drawing but will stop that practice. So do you think the test is going to be ruined or do you just keep trucking. This has HAD to have happened to somebody on here before right?

I think the Test will be fine. Look for discoloration or particles in the vial. You should look for particles from the stopper and also if the Test is clumping would be a huge sign.

There have been a lot of people on here who say they have seen small rubber particles in their vials.

Thanks brother. One final question if you don’t mind…

Since there is an 18g hole in the top now, should I finish this vial out drawing with the 18g in the same hole? I’m wondering if I use the 25g will it leak out around it when I turn it upside down?

I guess either way I’ll find out Monday on my next injection! Thanks guys for taking the time!

I don’t know the answer to this. If you keep going in the same hole, its going to get bigger. You risk more damage to the bottle and product. I would choose new location and much smaller gauge.

No worries. You don’t necessarily have to turn the bottle upside down.
