I see a Tesla so frequently here in northern Virginia that I don’t even consider it some snazzy rich vehicle. I see probably 3-4/week during my commute.
I wish I had jumped on board the stock when you guys first started talking about it…

Never seen one.

Honestly, I feel like a lot of cars are trying to go for the exact same style so I don’t there is the major variance like there used to be between automobiles. Besides quality of material, automaker badging, and other parts to the car, I don’t think the basic style of a Tesla vary too much from the newer Fusions, Jaguars, Aston Martins, Maserati.
I’m sure that’s going to piss off some people (ie. DB) but if I’m being completely honest I think they are all very similar in design.
i don’t understand how anybody can buy tesla stock right now. great product maybe, terrible stock.
on edge, take your profits and run.

Doesn’t piss me off at all. Other than the Fusion (which it looks nothing like in person), those are three beautiful vehicles you just named.

It’s like I don’t even know who you are anymore…
The thing that Tesla did well is make something that resembles a stylish car.
The Leaf and the Prius looks like a brick with wheels, they are also slower than dog-shit when it comes to performance. The reason why Tesla will win in the long run is because the buyer is not sacrificing much, if anything. It looks good, it performs well on the road, they just need to fine tune some issues.

I would not be a buyer of the stock right now. I wouldn’t be a seller either.
There’s a reason the valuation is so rich. It’s because of the great potential.

It’s not too late to get in. I’d be surprised if the price doesn’t drop to 170 in the near future. 150 could happen pretty easily. It’s good to pick up any stock you want to buy on dips but even buying Tesla right here at 198 isn’t a bad idea. Ultimately the price will go much higher.
There will be all kinds of opportunity to get in over the coming years. They will missed estimates, there will be a glitch with the giga factory, they will fall behind on gen III, Elon will get caught banging Devine Brown in an ally, or the most likely of all, the general market will tank and fear will rule all stocks.
Remember, the current bull market of 5 years has surpassed the '03 to '08 run in duration and it’s nearly matched the run from '95 to 2000. I have to believe we are within 1.5 years of a major correction.
Having said that though, I do have this idea (admittedly more of a wild fantasy) that the Tesla revolution can single handedly engineer a bypass of the next recession. Imagine if Tesla can continue to grow and before the next market meltdown spur infrastructure, energy, energy storage and transportation revolutions all at the same time! I believe its possible but I also believe that kind of development is probably at least 5 years away and the market will reset long before that.

What do you make of this meeting between Apple’s mergers and acquisitions wizard and Elon Musk? Rumor has it that Apple is either looking to invest in Tesla’s battery production or is in consultation with Tesla about producing an Apple Car.
Whatever it is, I like it.
Elon Musk is the real-life version Tony Stark but without the charisma and Iron Man suit.

I don’t know. I suppose a partner for the giga factory is likely.

I read recently that a tech company is starting to build a prototype of a driverless car whose interior is designed to function as an office space. The car is apparently based on the Tesla. I can definitely see Tesla partnering up with companies like these in the future (along with Google) as driverless car technology becomes more and more advanced.

I don’t own any stocks or anything so this would be an entirely new venture for me. I’ll have to do some research.
Had to look up who Devine Brown was. Does that make me young or you old?

March 225 calls settle $8
Net change on 300 share -$300

Not really. It will be great if they kill it but otherwise, as long as it’s not a big disappointment, I don’t really care. A single quarters earnings don’t mean much in the big picture unless it reveals a sudden drop off in customer interest.

True, true.
But there’s a lot more than that being released. Model X guidance, gross margin, infrastructure build-out costs, future revenue guidance, delivery prices…
There’s going to be a lot of people listening in on that conference call.

Is Tesla destined to change the world or destined to be something like Porsche? That’s the question that will decide if it’s a 1000 dollar stock or a 10 dollar stock. That’s what I’m interested in knowing.
