Are you even more impressed that I used to work with the mentally ill there? :-)
I am impressed that you could tell who was mentally ill there.

Obama essentially gave bad people an excuse to act out like animals. Give the same excuse to other “groups” and the trash of that particular group will use it to their advantage as well.

Could you explain this statement better?

Obama has what to do with this?
Since you asked nicely, I’ll answer. When the whole Trayvon situation happened, Obama took the opportunity to site that there is still racism, oppression, unfairness, etc. towards the black Americans (note I said black Americans, not African Americans, since I’d bet a testicle the bulk of those with darker pigmentation don’t know from what African country they originated). He basically opened the door for problems.

If we had a Japanese person that is highly respected (I can’t pick one) get on TV and state that bceause of World War II camps in the US where Japanese were placed under suspicion, Japanese are still oppressed today and suffering under this culture, then the Japanese would have an “excuse” to act out - assuming they were going to act out in the first place.

The bad black people (note, not all black people are bad, but every “community” has good and bad) are taking advantage of the situation. “Hey now I can go get me some stuff” when the riots happen. “I can act out violently against my oppressors for what they are doing to me.”

Is it logical? Hell no. Is it happening? Hell yes. Give stupid people an inch and they’ll take a meter. Bad people look for any excuse to be bad, whether logical, justified, or completely ludacris.

Imagine if a White President got on after 100 cases of black on white crime and said, “My fellow Americans. It has become apparent to me that the White community is being victimzed by our Black counterparts. For the oppression of many years past, we are now being punished for something we have not done. I encourage you to stand up for your rights as citizens of this great country, and to work towards a resolution.” Garauntee my paycheck, white supremacists would take this as a chance to some black bashing. Totally stupid and trashy, but as I said, its an excuse/reason to do something those “type” of people already want to do.

Many? For some posters here the civil rights movement was in full effect during their lifetimes so “many years past” might not be the best choice of words. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with your post in general but simply pointing out that the oppression (your word) you mention is not ancient history and there is some huge detachment between it and the present. You still have people who endured segregation and Jim Crow laws alive today. You have people who witnessed lynchings still living. You also have those who were on the other side of those acts still walking around. It was not that long ago. Americans suffer from a condition called, “if I don’t remember it then it might as well have never happened.”

Interesting observation. A black man is elected president and it’s a setback for race relations. I guess a lot of underachieving white men are holding a grudge. I mean, that is what you were implying?

I like how it’s called “ethnic intimidation” instead of “hate crime” because (once again) the victim is white and the attackers are black…
