Should Geithner go ? Should Obama show him the door ?
Why would we ever get rid of such a stellar Treasury Secretary? Especially when it’s not his fault.
Obviously it was the Tea Party that appointed Geithner.
-It was the Tea party that raised the debt to almost 15 trillion over the past three years more than the previous three Presidents combined!
-It was the Tea Party that pushed an incredibly expensive power grabbing national health care bill down the throats of Americans when 70% of them said they didn’t want it. And then gave all their pals a slide in having to sign onto this horrific plan.
-It was the Tea Party that promised change and ended up keeping it’s word giving us one of the worst slides toward economic disaster the country has ever known.
-It was the Tea Party that spent trillions on an economic stimulus package that padded the pockets of it’s political supporters, like unions and did NOTHING to help the economy.
-It was the Tea Party that campaigned relentlessly on increasing job growth and even talked about it for almost three years after that…but actually caused unemployment to go up.
-And of course it was the Tea Party that was so inexperienced it didn’t have a clue on how to lead this country in any area of importance.
Oh wait…nope…all of that IS because of OBAMA the second worst modern day President (after LBJ)----and he’s not done yet!
Thank God for the Tea Party and any person or organization that tries to bring back sanity to a government RUN BY OBAMA that has run amuck.

Pitt, I would also ask this of Axelrod as well, Obama spent the first 15 months of his presidency whoring out his Health Care Law. In that time, he could been pursuing things more relevant to our current interests, like jobs and debt.
If Chris Christie wasn’t so fat, I would wager that he could beat Obama, but the people would never vote for such a large man. But then again, the people voted for a black man from Chicago too, so never say never.
Trust me when I tell you, I doubt Christie will be reelected governor. He’s pissed off too many people. New Jersey (I’m assuming not too different than Cali) has a lot of people that receive money from the state. He came in saying he would make cuts. As he does that people are getting angry because no one wants their own programs cut.
I know what you’re saying, but here in Cali, we have WAY more private sector people than public workers. We have about 500,000 government workers among a population of 38 Million people. Increased taxes were voted down by a 2 to 1 margin, and that includes a very Democratic population.
What I have come to find, is that it’s the politicians who are liberal, more so than the voters. At the end of the day, even the the soy-eating, hippie-loving, tree-hugging, yoga-doing, shower-lacking, voters don’t want to be gouged with higher taxes.
We passed a law here, that made it legal or the public to view how and where the tax money is spent. A court order was issued for the disclosure of these records, A Freedom of Information Act was filed on it, and the Speaker of the Assembly refused to follow it. You have a public official refusing to cooperate with a judicial court order. I can’t imagine how bad the info they’re hiding must be.

Just point out one thing that I stated in the above post that is incorrect. I know that you and many others on this board want to give Obama a free pass. It could be because he’s black, maybe you find him charismatic, you think he’s a good speaker. Or perhaps it’s none of those things, maybe you and others are just flat out liberal and you want a liberal in the White House. But there has to come a time where you put your foot down and say all politics a side you Mister President STINK
Just as I did with GW Bush. He too ran up the debt, (not nearly as much as Obama did). He also did some other things that I felt moved the country in the wrong direction. Why is it so hard for liberals to look at Obama and say WE GOOFED!
And if you, or any other liberal on this board thinks Obama is doing a great job I challenge you to post your reasons for thinking such thoughts on this thread right now!
At this point in time my friend it is not about republican vs democrat. It’s like a business and we have a really terrible CEO who is ruining the company and placing our jobs in jeopardy. It’s time we fire him and hire someone else…almost anyone else.

That’s ridiculous that they won’t cooperate with a court order. Yea in New Jersey we have a much smaller population and it is known to be a liberal state. Christie cut school aid by a percentage to all schools and it was challenged. Court ordered he had to give money back. Here’s an article to give you an idea how much some districts are getting from the state.

Some are, some deal in half truths. But my post isn’t a political ad. Once again, if there is something In my post that is absolutely not true you be sure to point it out to me.
Thanks,

The vitriolic rhetoric just keeps reaching new levels of idiocy.
Of course our debt problems are the tea parties fault! I mean I love it when congress likes to spend my money to buy votes from special interest, or you know, borrow money that I have to pay in taxes, from say…china to do the very same. Man its easy to spend other peoples money, I dont want that gravy train to stop. And if it does, blame those silly small government tea partiers. Low taxes? Balanced budgets? What do you mean “free government handout” is a misnomer? I dont get it…

Enjoyed John Podhoretz’s assessment of the whole US credit downgrading affair.
“The U.S. Is Downgraded, and Obama Will Be Too”
http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2011/08/05/the-u-s-is-downgraded-and-obama-will-be-too/
This is a terrible day. For the first time, the creditworthiness of the United States has been called into question by an independent entity, Standard and Poor?s, which has downgraded the country?s credit rating from AAA to AA+. Its statement features this terrifying phrase: ?The political brinksmanship of recent months highlights what we see as America?s governance and policymaking becoming less stable, less effective, and less predictable than what we previously believed.? S&P assigns blame to all players, and by seeing a ?negative outlook? down the road, is saying it expects to downgrade to a simple AA within two years.
The Left will and is already blaming the Tea Party and Republicans. The Right will and is blaming the growth of the federal debt and the refusal to deal with the unsustainable path created by the entitlement programs. This is a grinding battle that will lead to an intellectual and ideological stalemate. There?s truth to the Leftist charge that the conservative Republican decision to use the debt ceiling fight as leverage to force a cut in the national debt at a particularly risky time was unsound. But that is nothing next to the liberal fantasy that the U.S. can stay on its current course?the most destructive notion in present-day politics.
But the ideological stalemate does not mean the political fallout will be evenly distributed. This is a colossal disaster for Barack Obama, and anybody who says otherwise is kidding himself or trying to spin you. We know that the election of 2012 is going to be fought on jobs, the economy, and the wisdom of health care. But now the GOP has an overarching theme that I predict will be at the core of a $500 million advertising campaign: ?America needs its good name back.?
Don’t you think it coincidental that congress threatens not to pay America’s bills and the Creditors raise ALL OUR Rates , fucking great
Hmmm, did you somehow miss the that the part about the recent astronomical spending with out enough capitol to cover it as being a rather large culprit? The S&P says we’re about 2.1 trillion bucks from where we need to be in recovering debt…That coincides rather remarkably with the amount of extra capitol spent on failed programs in '09 and 10.

Pitbull the Democrats had full control of the white house and yet did nothing about your issues. Yet when the Republicans control one house you come out whining. So now your blaming Reagen instead of Bush or both?

Honestly, is there any point where’d you say the government is too big? Your side of the aisle has very likely destroyed the fiscal health of this nation. Your guys created these programs, and demagogued until they became practically untouchable. So now, by mid-century, they alone are projected to devour all tax revenues when looked at from a historical avg. No military, no foods stamps, no EPA funding…nothing but SS and Medicare and Medicaid.
Of course, we don’t actually have that long. After all, in the meantime we must pay interest on the debt (which is ballooning on it’s own), and pay for every other function of government, while the Medicare and SS burden grows. So, you’re really looking at 2025. When, factoring in just servicing the debt, and paying entitlement obligations, we no longer have the revenue for a military, homeland security, or an environmental protection agency. 14 years…
Of course, we can’t actually wait 14 years, and shazam fix it at the last moment, in the blink of an eye. All that, and you want to point fingers at the right, and suggest the government deserves a shot at a much larger piece of the economy? It hasn’t been able to manage what it already has! We have probably no more than a few years to deal with this before it flat out causes economic misery this country has never seen.

And when Obama passed health care he had both houses of congress with a democrat majority. That just goes to show you that democrats will blame republicans even when there are no republicans in the immediate area.
Obama is a freakin disaster and I think some are in denial.

The best health care system in the world is the one you never use. And I say that in reference to how you eat and live your life. If you live like a fucking slob (eat like shit, smoke, drink, no exercise, etc), then I should not have to pay for your sick ass down the road. Now for those who are born with health issues, obviously that’s a different story. But if I have to pay for someone who sweats margarine, then I should get a tax write off on anything and everything that keeps me away from the doc. That includes healthy food, supplements, my gym membership, etc.
