It’s sad that so many kids grow up believing that free speech is synonymous with “I can do whatever the fuck I want and nobody is supposed to be allowed to do anything about it.”

I just think that using a “less then lethal” weapon on someone for being disruptive is retarded. The cops could have just tossed his ass out of the room just like bouncers to to assholes at bars.
The only difference; politics.
And the title isn’t biased bullshit
he was speaking, was asked to leave, didn’t, got tased. speaking lead to the tasing. its really simple.[/quote]
The title is biased bullshit.
He was tasered for not leaving when asked, you point this out yourself. That it started with him speaking makes no difference.
Hell, it started with him breathing. Perhaps the title should be “Tasered For Breathing”?
Funny how hippies ignore portions of the argument–in the face of actual evidence, i.e. videotape–and continue blathering about violation of rights. He was asked to leave, and refused to leave(physically refused, not verbally). Trespassing. Now he is being told to leave, refused. Resisting arrest. Continued resisting, got tased.
Can we go back to talking about shoes now?
I hate cops I hate polotics. You put them together you have totalitarianism.
Yeah he (Kerry) should have just answered the stupid question, and lied like he always does.
We all know he is a commie, and does not think we can make our own choices that is why he wants to be elected. It is also why he wont answer questions
The cops should have done it like they did back home arrest you under suspicion (of inciting a riot), and then resisting arrest; cause they really have no reason. W
when the have you beat the shit out of you in the elevator. It all gets thrown out in court…
Cops should go to training in Rockford Il. They know how to do shit in secret, so it does not wind up on the web.
these cops were clearly not pros.
Oh yeah I am all for the tazering and casteration of stupid people. Ya just cant do it in public places until conviction of being stupid. By a T-Nation jury
UF students are not the only ones getting tasered these days. Go Seminoles!!!

Ok, let’s talk about those rights. A core principal of U.S. government and law is that my rights end where yours begin. Whether something is my right or not, if I use my rights in such a way that they keep you from exercising your rights equally, I’m in the wrong.
That is what this kid did. By not following the civilized procedures of this event, he was infringing on everyone else’s rights of free speech (by supressing anything said to him or against him or in response to him, just as Kerry would start to answer one question, the kid would badger at another, he didn’t really want answers) and right to assembly.
Two, he was first asked to leave, and when he refused to, he was now trespassing. The college did have the right to ask him to leave, they own the property and were sponsoring the event. So, this kid is now infringing upon other’s rights, he is disturbing the peace, and he is trespassing. Security officers are SUPPOSED to escort someone out who is doing these things, particularly tress passing.

I guess you must have started watching closely only after this bit because, once again, the officers grabbed him after he said “thank you” and clearly stepped away from the microphone. They didn’t start throwing him out until he had voluntarily seceded the floor.
Finally, when did anyone mention the procedure of the event? Has that been released? Do we know if he was breaking from it or if it was adjusted because what he was saying reflected negatively on Kerry.
hedo-calling me a nitwit doesn’t tell me what exactly I said that you don’t agree with, nor did I ever tell anyone to emulate me. I excell in school, and found it boring because of this. I didn’t know Greenspan’s official title, but I figured you’d know the name or the description of the title. He said he was incarcerated on an interview on worldnews on abc at the beginning of the week.
zap-he said he had 3 questions,he asked his questions and was awaiting an answer when they cut his mic and grabbed him.
They asked him to leave as they started to remove him, they have to at least give him the option of leaving of his own accord. I highly doubt anyone sees this guy as a threat, so the whole “they had to protect Kerry, ‘VIP’,” is an arguebale point, but a pretty moot point.
The day before this incident Andrew Meyer had stated on his website that he would do his best to be thrown out of the Sen. Kerry speech. Prior to the beginning of the video a female student had approached the podium , when all of a sudden Andrew Meyer pushed her aside and began to ask his questions. UF Student Accent then signaled for UPD to have him removed.
This is when Andrew Meyer signaled his friend to begin video taping. Senator Kerry then asked for Meyer to stay so he could answer his questions. This is when the video begins and you see UPD standing behind Meyer. The media doesn’t tell you about that part. The media also lied about him being shot w/ the taser gun.
He was spot tased on his left shoulder because he would not give up his left arm to be cuffed to the right. Now it gets even better. Once removing Meyer he began to laugh about the incident and became calm.
Was the officers actions out of line ? I don’t think so. Police brutality…yeah right ! Meyer is a publicity hound and antics like the aforementioned is why he was previously fired from his position at the local college paper.

I find it hard to believe you did well in school after reading your last two posts.
Please post the link to the interview or to a transcript of it. I do not believe Greenspan said he was jailed for speaking out against the Bush administration. Just didn’t happen. If he did say it, you should easily be able to prove it.
Strive for clarity. Your posts, at the very least are muddled and disjointed.

He was not tasered(lets spell it right folks,we’re all grown) by one officer,he was tasered by 3.
The fact is he was tasered by one officer. The taser was not “shot” utilizing the barbs but was used in “drive stun” mode. This method causes no neuromuscular incapacitation, is sligtly less effective and is used for pain compliance only instead of temporarily incapacitating a subject.
My dad was in the airforce and has always grabbed the pressure point in my neck or ear and it instantly subdues me,and I’ve used it on others to the same effect.
Not all pressure point techniques will work on everybody. Try it on someone under the influence of PCP. The taser is effective on everyone. Police will use the fastest and most efficient tool at their disposal…in this case the taser.
I’m dumbfounded how you people think that a taser can’t kill someone when a regular outlet can. Especially when sustained over a few seconds. An outlet shock(which has killed people) lasts maybe one second,if it’s an automated taser,it’s normally 5-30 seconds depending on the make and setting.
Here are some facts for you. They don’t operate on the same current. An outlet has alternating current (AC) with 120 volts and somewhere between 15-30 amps. A taser uses DC current, a battery, usually 10-12 volts. When fired the voltage increases to 50,000 but the amps drop down to less than 1. Basically the charge has a lot of pressure behind it but not much intensity. The outlet is just the opposite. With high amperage it has a lot of intensity which is what kills you.
I’m not sure what you mean by an “automated” taser. A taser is fired manually and has only 2 modes. That being fired utilizing a cartridge that propels the barbs and drive stun mode. The operator determines the length of time by depressing the trigger and is done so in 3 second bursts.
The fact of the matter is simple. Obey the law and you won’t get tasered…and arrested.
