This is adorable.

Life and technical difficulties shifted my priorities for a bit. I’ve got a new gym to explore though!

ooh new gym. cool.

Yay!

P2 is back!

Hai Guys!

Another last class of the semester! Now just a stack o’ papers to grade. I don’t understand why I assign projects, now I have 40 of them to read!

They stuck me with two classes for Summer I (that’s four 4 hour classes a week), hence the absence this time. For summer II I only have one class a week for 4 hours, which frees up time for research and you peeps.

I haven’t spent much time at all in the weight room this semester (for the rest of my life time will be in semesters), but I did manage to find a cardio routine. Before BJJ I really liked spinning so I went back to it… at 5am. For summer II I plan to keep it and add lifting.

I’m not sure what I want to do, but I’ve realized that I can’t plan programs longer than the semester, the schedule changes fuck everything up.

I did goof around a little last night, managed to bench 95 for 5 reps. I think I’ve decided to suck it up and acquire a motion capturing device so you guys can pick apart my squat. It’s on the list for this week. The ever growing list…

I’d just like to share how super awesome my hair looks today. It’s now been a year since I went no shampoo.

yay!!! welcome back!!!

that was a crazy summer 1 timetable. yuk. i just finished my grading for the A semester (we run different semester systems since we want to summer break between academic years too!) luck with yours!

know what you mean about living life semester to semester. schedule changes etc etc. glad you have enjoyed spinning though that is a crazy hour to be doing it.

what do you use instead of shampoo? oil? conditioner?

Yeah I saw your post about sneaking away from grading to lift. It’s remarkable how that shit follows one around.

Water, occasionally an ACV rinse. It’s cut down on getting dressed time considerably, most days I do nothing.

You’re a no poo too? I’ve started that recently - I use some bicarbonate of soda (baking soda, I think you guys call it) and then an apple cider vinegar rinse. My hair is starting to improve. Unfortuantely I still have to dye my greys so it still gets its share of chemicals every so often.
Your hair looks amazing, btw!

I got a lot of shit over in TK when I first started, but it’s worked out swimmingly. I’m not an angel about it; I still straighten it on occasion. It’s a lot thicker now though, and just feels healthier. When I was first researching no poo I read an article on how you’re supposed to massage your scalp when you do wet it. I’ll see if I can find it for you, it feels really good and is supposed to stimulate growth. There have been a lot of other variables so I’m not sure if it’s the cause, but hey, it doesn’t hurt.

I could do with that - I’ve got quite a lot of hair but it’s very fine and as I’m getting older, it’s not getting any thicker.

Since I’ve gotten used to being up at 5 (it still sucks, but doesn’t seem impossible) I’ve been tweaking what I do. I don’t really like any of the instructors for spin. I LOVED my guy in Cleveland, but here the instructors are not dictators. They let people talk and have water breaks; so I don’t feel so bad walking past them to other things occasionally.

Today I tried Yoga Fusion, balancing early in the morning is surprisingly hard! The class consists of a lot of stuff I can’t make myself do which makes it a great class to have in the mix. It’s a lot of balance and stretching and core work. I’ll probably throw in an evening cardio session to make up for the missed spin.

Which is where your advices come in. So, as I’m getting old (!) my fat distribution is changing. I’ve always gained weight pretty evenly, but now I feel like my midsection has born the brunt of the damage. For on my own cardio I’d like to do some sort of machine thing for 30 min then a complex. Is there anything you think I should be doing to hit le love handles?

I get a greasy head fast - I’m afraid water only won’t cut it. Plus I need conditionned to detangle the long mess. how do you deal with those??

hair looks fab by the way  and good for you and keeping up despite the work load. A semester is what 3 months? There’s plenty of time for a good program within those weeks.

I can’t find the article, sorry. But the gist of it was to wet your hair and then under cooler water flip it over and while bent over massage the scalp. Kinda imagine pulling the oil away from the scalp.

I do occasionally lurk at this forum: The Long Hair Community Discussion Boards - Articles These ladies know their stuff.

Hi PCH. Nice Hair. I am NOT a morning person.

Congrats for being able to get up @ 5.

Keep working on the squats, they will get better.
