BG the stories are great. As far as whatever it is you have to do I always say take care of #1 first, which is obviously yourself. At least thats the simplest way of putting it.
Good stories, Bodyguard. You obviously know how to write.
One thing I don’t get about the last one - Ronnie is not really a friend, you barely know the owner, BYA is a prick, and there is another person in charge of security.
Why didn’t you just let Ronnie beat the BYA?
You didn’t want to ruin the game, you didn’t want to deal with the cops/mobsters, you don’t approve violence :p?
Or was it just force of habit?
Sorry if it’s a dumb question…

Ahh but perhaps my writing is not that good ![]()
I think you’re mixing up two stories. At the nightclub, I was helping a close friend who is the owner. There are some things going on there that I simply cannot tolerate and do not approve of.
The poker room, where the Ronnie incident occurred, is an underground poker room, and I get a piece of the security action, whether I am there or not - I supply security and I guarantee the security of the game against criminal activity and “street tax”. “Ronnie” is a “friend” in the sense of mutual respect…we are “friendly”, we know the same people and we know to respect each other, or else
He’s a bit more than an acquaintance, but he’s not getting an invite to the next barbecue at my house
No one else is in charge of security. The off duty cop works for me ultimately. I cannot let Ronnie beat BYA because BYA is part of an asian contingent that gambles LOTS of money that feeds the house and trickles down to me ![]()
I cared about the game. We want to avoid cops. I don’t give a fuck about mobsters - I have already slapped one well known ranking local outside a nightclub in a well publicized incident years ago. We all bleed blood - I don’t give a fuck about who you are if you’re disrespecting me.
Do I approve of violence? Not mindless, senseless violence and not violence against those that are weaker or cannot defend themselves. And not against the innocent. I believe in violence as a means of justice, retribution, and eliciting desired behavior as a last resort. Sometimes violence is necessary
In the Ronnie story, it was not. He’s a bad poker player, had a few too many beers and was bullying the Asian guy, because he could. On the one hand, I need to employ a measure of diplomacy with him, because of who he is, but at the same time, I wasn’t permitting him to beat anyone’s ass either if push came to shove.
I just wish I had some cards. I missed out on lots of $$$$$$. Maybe tonite…almost time to leave and I think I’ll play again.
Man clubs over here mostly suck because the min. age is 18. Now added to that you got 16,17 YO with fake IDs in some clubs. It just ruins it although getting chicks is pretty easy.

Ok, I got it now. I thought you were just there to play cards, that is, you were off-duty.
Blame it on the time zones, not the writing, hehe.
I have a couple of ‘friends’ kinda like that (small-times, kids mostly younger then me, though some of them are killers or drug peddlers), we sometimes chit chat in the gym, or on practice, they are polite when we meet and stuff, but I keep my distance.
I guess with security-related job, that’s not always a possibility.
I hope you’ll be richer in the morning.
Man, you have to switch that picture. It looks like you ve been guidofied.
Maybe it is truly time to stop bouncing.
As far as mobsters are concerned, I advise to drink coffee with a few influential persons sometimes.
If you get in trouble with smaller mobsters you don t have anything to worry about.
By the way, I really hate when people you ve thrown out try to scare you with who they claim to know or to be.
“You don t know who you re fucking with, I know/ am working for random mobsters name”
If they were bigtime criminals, they wouldn t be lurching and crawling in front of a club and shouting that out for the world to know.

LOL. I don’t drink coffee and thank you very much, but I don’t worry about anyone.
Asians just paid me $1800 Friday night. I knew I’d crack that game. Cha ching.
that poker story was great. Better than television.
Question on the poker game and the cop.
I’m assuming he turns the other cheek on a lot of shit that goes down there (aside from being at an underground poker game to begin with).
If shit gets real, like REAL real, what’s he to do. Even off duty he can flash badge. Is that verboten at ANY time, I mean besides covering his own ass?
Great stories, BTW. They have that real-but-quirky feel-- like little Elmore Leonard chapters (Get Shorty, Be Cool, Tishomingo Blues, etc). Keep them coming!
Great stories.

He’s out on disability right now - consequences on him. I didn’t want him there but someone else brought him in…I’m living with it. Every hour he works, I make money so Eff it. He’ll be gone soon. Place got robbed months back and the issue was more basic security breach which I fixed for them, hence a security person and some procedures. It’s actually a real nice group and a very well run room…eclectic but they’re all there to gamble, not fight. Tempers flare, as they do in card rooms, but all in all, they are just desperate degenerates.
I had a helluva weekend. Hit the Asian game for $1800 Friday night and I just played in the juiciest 5/10 NL home game I’ve ever seen last night filled with some of the worst players I ever seen. I only made $500 but it was my first time there and I’m trying to get the lay of the land. One of the worst players at the table cashed out $8700. I saw one guy get stuck for at least $7000. North of $30,000 on the table at any given time. I’ll be back
LOL
I used to be a ‘Bouncer’ in a club with 7 disco’s in it called Rumbay in Colorado Springs, CO. I’m 5’5 215lbs. Fat, wide, muscle and all. I’ve been trained in Muay Thai and Taekwando so grappling someone or putting them in a hold is not I’m trained in. It’ just defense and pure offense.
Anyhow, I’m standing on this small stage in the corner and on the edge, literally, about 10 x 10 where one of the waitress’s serves 1 liter beers out of a huge bath tub. Well, as the night goes on, I recognize a guy that whose father knows my father.
Well, this guy is a pretty boy douche bag with long hair, plucked eye-brows and and always dressed to impressed. He comes in alone, then bumps into two guys accidentally and they’re both sincere in apologizing to one another and begin talking, shootin the shit as we say. Well, they see this lady come off of the dance floor and the pretty boy and two other guys start talking to the young lass in daisy-duke shorts and tight spaghetti strap beige colored shirt.
The conversation gets a bit heated while I’m watching atop from the stage. Being a bouncer, you can read body language and you know when someone is creeping to do some crazy shit, or when someone is about to be on the offensive and attack someone. Well, one of the two friends(not the pretty boy) pokes the pretty boy in the chest and the pretty boy shoves the guy away and the guys friend shoves the pretty boy and he goes plowing into 3 tables and 12 chairs.
It’s like a domino effect. The pretty boy is down, and one of the friends grabs his hair and begins to goalie kick the pretty boy in his face. Immediately after the first kick, the pretty boy blows nothing but bloody smelling alcohol out through his nostrils like he was spraying 5000PSI from a high pressure hose.
Then the other friend begins to kick him in the stomach. Now, all of this happens in a matter of 5 seconds that it takes me to get down there and break up the massacre. by the time I get there, there’s a drunk off duty Army MP with one beer in his hand, drunk, and his other hand has the guys wrist in the air and his knee on the guys neck.
I tell him,‘Let me slide my knee by yours so I can keep this guy pinned,’ so he does and stumbles away. I tell the guy who’s neck is under my knee to let go of his hair. Now imagine this, the guys hair is 2 ft long so this guy has two grips of thick hair and he is not letting go.
So I stick my fingers in his ribs with all my might and he finally lets go. My fellow bouncer picks up pretty boy and escorts him to the front while bloody alcohol runs down his nose. I get the guy out from under my knee, pick him up and lead him out the back while another bouncer escorts the other friend out the back with me.
After we walk them out, we come back in and there’s a huge puddle of blood on the floor. This guy has drank so much that you can smell the alcohol in his blood and it’s covered a good 5 x 5 ft area. We cordon off the area, mop it up, and commence to watching everyone again.
Now, this club at any time in the night is full with half military personnel. I spent most of my night grabbing soldiers by their belts and escorting them outside because they were celebrating his promotion.
Or escorting out women who were throwing up in the men’s bathroom. But that was almost 8 years ago.
Being the short guy, it’s always other short guys that talk shit. Big guys, martial artist, never caused any problems. It was always the idiots trying to prove something. I’m glad I got out of that mess. It is now called ‘Fight Club’ by the customer’s because of military personnel going there after being out here in Iraq and try to let lose and end up fighting every single weekend. I’m surprised it’s still open to this day. But I’ll never go back there. Not my seen anymore.

BG,
Thanks for the great stories brother.
It’s official. I’m done with the club. All future stories will have to be poker room related. LOL. Someone else will have to carry the day ![]()

Noooooooo!
Get money ($)!
Great thread
Asian 2/5 game tonite. I’m going to work security for the room and play in the game. Hopefully, someone will do something stupid to write about
And hopefully, I won’t be working for free tonite!
Today I didn t work at any club, but tomorrow I will, so maybe I can put on a fresh dish the next days.
Here is a story I ve only been told about by a co worker.
The tale from the field, the strip club, a huge club and an airport.
Once upon a time, a very prominent US athlete came to my town for a game. He played like crap though (that s what a security guard told me).
Exhausted from the performance he proceeded to replenish his electrolytes with a couple of sportsdrinks in several clubs.
So he winds up at the strip club I mentioned earlier.
The bouncer there was delighted by the appereance of this guy and hence asked for a picture, but was denied his humble request.
Much to his irritation, the guy instead had a lot of fun with a couple of strippers and even leaves the club with a few of them.
I can only imagine by his vivid descriptions and vigorous use of four letter words how much that must have feed his ferocity.
Next on the programme du soiree is a big club in which he drinks for a couple of hundreds.
Expecting some sort of accomodation he tries to leave without paying the bills, but does not receive approval from the owner
“Fuck him. I don t care who this guy is, he pays for that shit.”
Last thing I heard from him is that he was arrested at the airport for not paying a bill. I don t know which one it was though, maybe the hotels fee, the strippers were quite willing to follow him so they were probably free.
