Taladafil and Joint Pain?

My joints have been feeling terrible the last few months and am wondering if it is from taladfil. I’ve been taking about 5 mg daily with an occasional 20 mg dose about every other week. Taking it for non-pp related reasons.

I read it can lower E which has crushed my joints in the past. The obvious next step is to stop taking taladafil to see if my joints improve, but curious if anyone has had a similar symptom.

Musculoskeletal pain (joint and back) is listed as a possible side effect of tadalafil, but it’s considered uncommon. The usually recommendation is to adjust dosage. I haven’t experienced any aches and pains, but I’ve found that I can get the effects I’m after taking just 2.5 mg every other day. You may want to cut your dosage in half and see what happens.

I’m curious about what you mean by “feeling terrible.” Your doses are high (even for non pp reasons) and what’s the reason for the 20 mg day? I take 2.5 mg every 3rd day and have no issues.

I’m assuming “PP” means penis?
Why are you taking it then? Blood pressure? Why are you taking a higher dose at times?
You say the joint pain has been for the last few months, when did you start taking the cialis?

Have you gotten any bloodwork?

I started experimenting based on this @Chris_Shugart article. I see he recently changed to 2.5 mg and I will drop my dosage.

The 20 mg dose was for just seeing what it does in the ding dong department after reading about a high dose. Insane for the occasional weekend use and I’ll leave it at that lol.

I starting taking it based on this @Chris_Shugart article. I’m lowering the dose based on his latest update.

The 20 mg dose was just for “fun”. Yeah, it works as advertised.

I haven’t gotten bloodwork yet. I’m due in the next month so going to wait for now to see what happens when I go off it for a bit.

I get that as well as feeling dry including cracked lips. Don’t think it ever effected my estradiol’s on blood work, at least not to a high degree.

I’ve never tried that, but it would be handy this winter: always a coat rack available.

Because I’m avoiding any real work, I decided to pull a Mythbusters and see if it’s possible.

Step 1. I only took 10 mg.

Step 2. Weighs about 8 lbs.

Conclusion - you can support a coat. The hanger actually makes it easier.

The things I do for science . . .

If I take 5mg daily, or more than 1 larger dose a week, I get intense pain in my hips, lower back and down my legs. It is not joint pain, rather a deep burning feeling of inflammation and radiating pain from the tissue.

I’m prescribed 5mg ED for BPH (but my PSA levels are just fine) as I was having to get up several times at night to pee(also a side from TRT for several years now). I love the increased muscle vascularity and accompanying pumps from it, and even at this low a dose it definitely helps with faster go times down below and also your refractory period is really reduced.
The only side effect I do get every time I take it is I get really congested in my sinuses and it’s difficult to breathe through my nose for awhile. It does go away after awhile but it’s mainly just annoying. But for all of the positive benefits I can deal with that anytime.

Also, why the fuck won’t health insurance pay for prescriptions yet they will pay for people to take Wegovy and other obesity medications? I have to use my pharmacy’s discount card thing for my prescription, and it is just the generic tadalafil, but my prescription insurance will not cover it. Bogus dude.

Yup. I get the same problems. Noticed when i am on higher test, i have no issue. once i go back on TRT, i immediately get knee (burning) pain, which i had with lower E2. The crazy part is. i tested my e2 and it was not low… But i definitely had that feeling. Ill have to do more testing… but i have no doubts that it elicited the same result as far as joint pain, as lowering my e2 did.

Funny story about this. I read this post and commented above. Then i read your post and it struck a chord.

Backstory
I’ve been on daily 5mg for almost 2years now. Was for BP support like yourself. Just about a year ago i started getting what i thought was really bad congestion. Never had it like this before. Felt like my nose was almost closed and i had difficulty breathing through my nose. My wife would always yell at me to blow my nose but when i did there was nothing there. Fast forward to a few months ago. I finally had enough and went to the ENT. At first they would give my lidocaine spray and scope my nose and they wouldn’t see anything. They gave me a couple sprays and an antihistamine. When that didn’t work the dr suggested he scope my nose without the lidocaine. What he saw was that the sacks on either side of my nose were completely enflamed essentially closing off my airway. Awesome, found the solution. They wanted to perform a procedure on my nose that would kill off some of the nerves to stop the inflammation. I agreed as i just couldn’t live like that. My insurance company decided i didn’t need the procedure and it would have been $3500 out of pocket. No way was i gonna pay that so i figured I would wait until 2025 when my HSA reupped and it would cover most of it. So I put it on the backburner.

Read this thread and specifically your post. What you said you experienced seemed close to what i was going through. I decided since i really didn’t need the cialis I would drop it and see what happened. Well wouldn’t you know 2 days after i stopped the issue was much better. By 4 days it was non existent. Since then I haven’t had one instance of the inflamation. This is all because of your post.
The strange part is I had been taking the cialis for almost a year with no issues and then all of a sudden it started.
Just figured I share my experience. TY for sharing yours.

Wow, that’s really interesting man, thanks for sharing! I guess I forgot to include that while I can always tell when the congestion hits/really stops me up, I can also almost exactly figure the amount of time it will take to clear up, which is about another 30-45 minutes. So, I get congested every time for a bit and just deal with it, and then a short while later it’s gone. I found that walking around/moving a bit when the congestion hits seems to help clear it up faster, I figure it has to do with the increased blood flow.

I stupidly started taking (luckily only for a few days) a decongestant (the kind that actually works, behind the pharmacy counter with pseudoephedra) at the same time I took my cialis, kind of a “well I’ll just take this to stop the congestion before it starts”. Then one day I got to thinking about the actual mechanism of action for a decongestant, then I slapped the back of my head and realized that taking something that was a vasoconstrictor would be pretty counterintuitive and dumb seeing as how I was taking the tadalafil to dilate my blood vessels/increase blood flow. lol. I’m just glad I realized that and stopped doing it, as it would essentially have cancelled out my whole reason for taking the tadalafil.

Again, guys, just ask your doctor for it the next time you’re in there. If your doctor is cool he’ll gladly write it. Just tell him you have to get up several times a night to pee and read that it can help with that. Also throw in there like I did that you also would like to benefit from the “extra blood flow” benefits in the bedroom as it does help (and if you really want to perform well, have a big date, etc you can always take 2 or 3 at a time, then just make up the extra doses later with half doses). Again, prescription insurance will not cover it but with the pharmacy discount card applied (all pharmacies have them, or use goodrx) I pay $13.85 for 30 5mg tadalafil. Third benefit, this coupled with your pre workout with NO boosters gives you a wicked gym pump!
