Take a Snap of Your Food

Is that sun dried tomato on there?

yeah, i actually prefer small cut up fresh ones, the sun dried is a bit too tough for my liking.

What went into my lunch box this morning:
Breakfast - Chicken, Quinoa, Carrots, Kiwi
Snacks - 2 Supershakes
Lunch - Grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, salad

Breakfast picture

Bought a “naturally-raised” sirloin steak over the weekend and cooked it up today. It had a bit of a gamey aftertaste too it and was pretty lean.

That looks yummy - Sweet potatoes and steak. How did you season the meat and how did you cook it? (Cast iron, Foreman grill or BBQ)

Prepping dinner - Lamb chops, Pork chops, Chicken breast and sweet potatoes. Thay all go into the oven at 450 for 25 minutes.

What’s in the the oven

Dinner at last…

Flip, looks like you have a fun time cooking your meals. If you don’t mind saying, how much would you say you spend on groceries? In my household we spend around $150 a week for 3 people. My wife does the shopping and most of the cooking so there are days when we eat pasta which probably isn’t the best thing to do.

One other thing, how did you prepare those chops and chicken?

this is how you bulk…clombian style…

also, whats up with you northerners calling grilling “bbq”, bbq is when you slow cook the meat with smoke, not putting it on the grill…

I cooked it using this method:

I had some Keg seasoning. Not sure if they have Keg where you’re from, but it’s a steak house. Basically, it’s a mixture of coarse salt, black peppercorn and a few other spices.

I do have fun cooking, it is the mess while cooking that I can’t stand. I think most men chefs according to my friend that goes to a cilinary schools are like that. He said studies shows that women tend to be messy in the kitcen compare to men. ( I am digresting from the topic here) The meat I cooked last night are pre-marinated when I bought them.

I live in a very diverse comunity in Los Angeles and I like taking advantage of the different food that different culture offer and available to us easily. Those meats were bought from an Armenian meat market. We spend about 100 to 120 dollars a week on groceries, there are two members in my household not counting Chico our pet dog.

-Cauliflower Mash Topped with Spinach, Tomato, OLive Oil and Herb sauce
-2 Tuna Steaks Grilled with Spinach, Tomato, OLive Oil and Herb sauce

Delicious and the Cauliflower gives the same taste, texture as rice or Potato mash, just blend it with some olive oil and butter.

Delicious!

Yummy - I’ve never thought of doing that with Cauliflower. I will try that tonight along with some grilled meat I bought two day ago. What is that brown sauce looking stuff?
