This is just wrong, I know personally pros who use T4 and ones who use T3, and some who use both. Bottom line, if you don’t know what you are doing you will chew up hard earned muscle and end up on thyroid meds for support of your skinny fat frame.
Read all you want on the internet but without BLOODWORK there is NO way to know what to use and how to use it and even with bloodwork it is important to know how to analyze the data. I can’t believe this is still even being suggested.
Why in the hell would anyone with a bit of knowledge use “research” grade T3? You can’t even standardize the dose and as little as 6.25 mgs can make a difference!!
Besides if your T4 is not converting it could be due to to anti-thyroid antibodies low conversion factor or I/C/Th continium to name just a few of many possibilities and adding t3 would not fix the problem just provide a bandain and mask it. DO NOT USE THYROID WITHOUT DR SUPPERVISION!!!
no, this isn’t wrong. the human body willnot convert T-4 into T-3 unless it needs it. there are even people who are having issues with T-4 converting to an “inactive” form of T-3 that need technically have normal levels of thyroid hormones that need additinal exogenous administration. that’s why there are medications such as Thyrolar, whicih is a combination of T-3 AND T-4.
as far as research chemicals…well, how many people here use research Nolvadex, etc? a lot. it’s simply a hell of a lot easier to get it…and if you’re not an idiot, you can figure out home many mcg’s you’re getting, since the dropper is labeled at verious points.
btw, just becasue some pro does it doesn’t mean it’s right…that’s about the worst rationalization you’re ever gonna give me for an argument.
also, another thing i forgot to mention…T-3 is much easier to use than T-4 for bodybuilding purposes. the half-life of T-3 is less than a day, whereas T-4 is closer to a week. this is good, since you can systematically increase the T-3 up to an effective dose for fat loss quickly, and taper off easier as well to minimize the time spent on it.
T-4 simply takes so long to build up in one’s body that you really can’t guess what an effective dose is going to be. this also explains why most docs start people at a low dose of this, and taper up every six weeks after blood test to get ot the optimal dose…
Dont touch insulin and dont touch T3/T4 if you dont have to.
Scary shit to be self regulating.

well, if you’re gonna use thyroid, use T-3 and not T-4. T-4 is simply ineffective as a fat burner in a healthy person, or even in someone that’s hypothyroid.
like the other guys said, T-3 is active, and T-4 needs to convert.
my throid’s been messed up since i was in Iraq, and i’ve been on T-4 for the better part of two years, with NO noticeable loss in fat. i got some “research” T-3, and added that briefly to see the effect, and lost 10lbs of bodyfat realively quickly.
and as a word of caution: having a fucked up thyroid gland sucks…not only do you add bodyfat quicker(i gained around 50lbs in two years), your cholesterol goes up (due to less tyroid activity), your energy levels drop, and most doctors are morons when it comes to treating disorders like this.
do a Google search for hypothyroidsim, and you’ll see a lot of controversy over how to effectivly treat this disorder…
I wonder if your doctor has checked your Reverse T3 levels. I was on Armour (T4/T3) and I was converting the T4 to RT3 which blocks the uptake of the “good” T3. I had to get completely off T4 and go to straight T3, and now life is good again.
I told my doctor I was getting more and more tired in spite of a fairly high Armour dosage. He checked my RT3 level and it was sky high…
I don’t know if you are have RT3 problems, but it never hurts to have another blood test done…
