And spend money.
I admire your optimism.
Shifting values. Marriage is a religious institution. Even people who claim to be religious put religion in to practice less and less, and there are fewer and fewer people claiming religion.
This leaves marriage as an archaic promise before a God that fewer and fewer people believe in, either openly or inwardly.
Iād be curious to see long term, coexisting relationships overlayed with marriage.
Exactly. The problem has been generations in the making.
Yes. Which can be camouflaged with, āItās for Little Bobby,ā instead of it being for a purseā¦which would be selfish, donchaknow.
Why are hobbies trivial?
Not all people get meaning from taking care of family.
really?
My sister showed me this womanās YouTube channel. In another video, she talks about how she regrets getting implants and having other work done.
Iām going on 7 years on short sleep and my daughter is 7. Itās not a coincidence.
It is interesting that the 2 people that took issue with the āhobbiesā comment are probably the youngest on the site.
One is a socially awkward female with a training/eating disorder and the other is a college aged male who spends his time trolling a training website, making references to cartoons and is a virgin.

No wonder you all arenāt having sex.
arenāt having sex.
I got a pretty awesome handjob this morning.
Iām getting so good at giving those things.

Maybe this belongs in the Hot Takes thread, but Iām pretty willing to die on the hill of child-sleep issues. EDIT: That sounds too dramatic. This isnāt really a big deal, haha.
My son is now 3, and I grew up sharing bedrooms (and playing a fairly involved role as an older brother) with 4 younger siblings and various younger cousins at times. Iām not at all unfamiliar with young kids and getting them to sleep.
I firmly believe that probably at least 90% of kids can and should be sleeping through the night by 4-6 months old. Except for the 10% who may have some type of issue, if a kid isnāt sleeping 8-12 fairly uninterrupted hours a night definitely by age 1 (although it can be much sooner than that) thatās on the parents.
Itās hard to say that without sounding like Iām attacking peopleās parenting choices, which is never received well by anybody (myself included), but yes, I fully stand by my statement that short sleep (because of a child, and not because of a job or some other factor) shouldnāt last longer than a few (Iāll extend this to 4-6) months.
Are you referring to having a family or pursuing hobbies and hangout time with friends?
Pursuing hobbies and hangout with friends. Everyone needs that bro, even families.
If youāre referring to my comment, I think Anna and I are about the same age and Iām just a bit older than TL.
I was referring to about her and TL.
I think those things are good. I also donāt think theyāre anywhere near as important as other things.
