T-ransformation 2018

ECA, clenbuteral, albuterol, cytomel, nicotine patches, hot rox and DNP. Might even try sticking to my diet for the full 5 months… Nah.

Seriously though: morning cardio, higher carb this time, no peanut butter at all.

perhaps. I really don’t see a clear path for me to succeeding in this challenge other than stepping on stage, OR gaining a shit ton of weight, getting significantly stronger, and being judged a little less on my aesthetics and more on the overall progress I make towards a big picture goal. Basically I’m saying I need to end up at 180 lbs or 220. Nothing in between. lol.

While I can somewhat see your plight, hard to empathise with: “I look like an after photo all the damn time! I can’t win a transformation challenge! I don’t even train for aesthetics.”

Didn’t you already win that Texas Strongman comp at your current weight? Why not move to the 230 class?

Ya, you’re in a tough spot for this comp.

I’m in the same boat. I could lose 15 lbs and be a tall, skinny, and defined fella (probably not worthy of winning something like this) OR I can go the other way and do a bulking transformation. I’m leaning towards the bulk. It won’t be too significant because I want it to be clean so 5 lbs of muscle might be a successful attempt.

easier said than done, at this point. going to a SOLID 230 would take years of commitment. It’s do-able, but I don’t even necessarily want that from a lifestyle perspective. Strongman is awesome, but it’s not my life. I don’t have to be in the gym everyday, and I don’t have to force-feed myself. A more favorable option for me right now would be to try to push to a really solid 210-215, and just start cutting water regularly for comps. Then for a smaller regional comp, I could go ahead and do the 220 or 230 class, depending on the fed, and for, say, nationals, I’d cut to 200. That’s really where my intentions currently are. I woke up at 195 today, and I don’t compete for another 3 months. I’m also ‘clean’ right now. I’ll be going back on in early December, and try to push to a good 200 by Jan 1. So by our June deadline for this comp, if I stay focused, I could be as big as 215.

Whatever happens it sounds like this year could be a good one

I’m relatively new to these forums and am just now wrapping up a V-Diet to lose some extra pounds but I’m definitely in on this too.

I’ll be adding mass and then lean out at the end. Good work by everyone in the 2017 thread (that I just got done reading).

Alright fuckers I’m in

it’s likely that I won’t be in this year, I enjoyed last year and learnt a lot. I will be following along though.

I will however be sticking with my goal of a nice steady cleanish bulk, I want more mass so need a long run at it without any distractions.

I’m on the fence. I need to get my weight down a bit for a competition in February. The real goal is to take first, qualify for nationals, then prep for that. Ambitious and potentially far-fetched, but I like aiming high. I doubt that actively restricting calories for 4 months would help much with the bigger goal of progressing in strongman, as I’m already a bit light for the weight class. I may post pics and check in, but will probably participate informally (I.e. no guilt if I look the same).

What was the show Dorian Yates ran? Should also be something similar to that. Best transformed lift without turning into blubber.

I’m planning to run a lean bulk for my attempt at the comp. Just do your thing and track your progress from January to June.

I’m actually cutting for the rest of the year so hopefully I’m in good shape even this thing starts.

I’ll be following but unlikely in. I need to fill out the 198s with some quality mass so any kind of cutting is off the cards right now.

We’re doing the same thing it sounds like. I’m doing a show January 20 that has really favorable events for me. I expect to qualify for nationals there. Probably will do 198 class. I ended up with a couple wins and several other top 3’s this year, so smaller comp wins don’t really matter to me anymore. I competed 6 times this year. I plan to do this January show, and maybe one other outside of nationals. Goal is pretty lofty, but it’s to finish top 15 overall at nationals, and not zero any event. realllllly hoping to not see yoke this year. Or circus db. But will probably see both lol.

My failings with a circus db haunt my dreams. I need to buy one.

We’re basically twins! Except I’m taller, weaker, and fatter lol

If you want to do any online competing when events get announced or any event in general, I’m totally in. I don’t have training partners often and the competition would do me well.

yea i’m totally up for it. My next comp has some very standard events in it, so we could make a competition out of 1 or more of those events. It’s max log, max deadlift (standard bar, off the floor), a stone series, farmers carries @ 240 per hand, and a front hammer hold for time. Any of those implements strike your fancy?

I’d also be down for a circus db challenge.
