T.O. Is Released!

I can’t wait for next season. This should be interesting. Here’s hoping all the predictions of doom are wrong.

JMB

It’s official.

Definitely official;

T.O. is a “'Boy”:

Well SHIT…the guy I hate MOST in Football is now on my team. I must admit…he is good…and I hated him for it!

Hopefully this is no bust.

You guys have GOT to love this!

The “T.O.” jerseys are aleady stamped and ready to sell!

LOL!

Mufasa

I can’t believe they signed him for a full 3-years. And a whole $25 mil. I think they could’ve gotten him for a lot less. By I suppose they didn’t want to start out by breeding resentment.

Hell, if no one else wants him maybe the Vikings will pick him up. He may be a jackass but he’s the best receiver in the league (and he doesn’t take plays off like some other receiver I won’t name…cough…Moss).

I guess I don’t understand why people get so worked up when talking about TO. The NFL is all about money and entertainment and winning. This isn’t little league where the saying “it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game” is even an issue. Every team’s goal is to win the Super Bowl and I think TO will have an instantaneous impact on whatever team decides to pull the trigger. (note to Zigi - If you’re reading this, you have the bucks, quit F’g around and pick him up).

The Eagles were 17-5 when TO played…and only 4-9 without him. Coincidence…I doubt it. He trains hard and he plays hard…period!

Not coincidence at all. He was a huge asset. Of course you are clearly looking all the injuries and other factors irrespective of TO that factor into that number. He does play hard. But of course, if he were half as good as he THINKS he is, he could take a peewee football team to the superbowl. Or perhaps with Sascha Cohen as quarterback and the rest of the female ice skaters as O Line.[/quote]

Last season, McNabb had a sports hernia while he played (and it showed) and then he was done. There were a lot of other injuries on the Eagles as well. Too much to overcome. As said before, we made it to 3 NFC championships without him and won the 4th without him as well.

Question:

Who will be the quarterback?

THAT is pivotal. Bledsoe is going into his (15th?) year in the league?

(I didn’t follow “The 'Boys” much last year).

Wooohooo, as a longtime Vikings fan, I may be rooting for the Cowboys this year…best thing to happen to that football team since cocaine, hookers, and vans full of weed.

The problem still is they don’t have a dynasty crew that learned together like Troy, Emmit and Michael. They have vets from other teams and they will need to gain a trust there.

I think that TO will bring a lot to a streghtening ground game if he can just play and keep his mouth shut.

I do believe Bledsoe can do the job still.

I’ll bet that he runs to the Dallas 50Yrd Line star in his first appearance. It would be the right thing to do.

Will they cut him after year 1 or year 2 of his 3 year contract? No way he plays all 3.

Look, guys:

Jones is no dummy. T.O. will do two things:

  1. Fill Texas Stadium (even more!)

  2. Lead to more televised Cowboy Games with more viewers. (Even Cowboy “haters” will be watching to see what T.O. will do, whether they admit it or not).

Everyone keeps mentioning “Dancing on the Star”; I want to see him do the “Pom-Pom Dance” with the Dallas Cheerleaders!

LOL!

Mufasa

Good Luck. Dalla will love him for awhile…then his personality kicks in.

IF he changes, and that’s a big if, and is an asset to the team in all ways rather than just being an excellent player on the field. And if he isn’t destroying the team in other ways, they might.

Each year of the contract he makes less money. I already see him acting stupid after the first year, asking why he shouldn’t make as much next season.

He gets $10 million year one (5 base plus 5 bonus.)

$8 million year 2 and $7 million year 3.

He will demand a new contract after year one.

Cmon guys…I could throw 15 TDs this year if TO was on my team, just throw it up and he’ll get it. If the Cowboys win a championship this year, they will renegotiate TO’s contract and pay him more next year, guarunteed.

I don’t know what was his base and what was bonus with the Eagles…but the OVERALL contract was a seven-year, $48.97 million deal with the Eagles, that he signed in 2004.

So Jones is paying him a) ROUGHLY the same b) a slight increase in base over 3 years and c) for a shorter period of time.

(What I would like to know are all the clauses and stipulations!).

You know what?

It’s going to be fun to see the 'ole pain-in-the-ass back on the field where he needs to be.

Thoughts?
