T-Nation Homepage Pictures

I was going to pick Nards if Big Banana wasn’t available.
heavythrower wrote:

Just I would rather them not be naked cept for some high cut off jean shorts posing.
So looking at a bunch of buff village people is heterosexual?
Professor X wrote:

I’m not angry. But then, pretty much no matter what is written here, someone will perceive it that way…and goodness only knows why.
Its because you’re big and black so clearly you must be angry all the time.

By the way where are all the naked dudes? Looking at the front page there is one guy flexing in the anaconda ad then CT, v diet, and a big ass pic of a hot chick at the bottom. The only other pictures are the icons from the articles which are either dudes flexing or lifting. If anyone is so worried about it then you should turn off pictures in your browser or only log on from home, problem solved.

I didn’t read the whole thread, so sorry if it’s taken a turn away from the OP but…

I do wish there was a “work safe” option to the website. I got in a bit of trouble (not really, but a baaaaad look) a couple of years back when I was reading some weightlifting article with some kind of “sexy pic” and my (female) boss happened by. I guess I just shouldn’t be reading it at work, but…well… I do like this site. So my vote goes to some sort of “work safe” button on the “hub” so I can read Sex and the Male Animal at home and turn it off at work.

My 2 cents.
And you see, I doubt anyone can disagree with that.

What caused an issue in this thread was the attitude like “naked ass is ok but if we see one more bodybuilder with his shirt off on the front page, we can’t take it anymore”. Having an avatar like the OP made it even more ridiculous…but yes, you have a point. I have gotten dirty looks before when actually replying to a post that was strictly related to some science issue because of the avatar of one of the posters being on the screen (one with a lady with huge tits squeezing them for the camera over and over).

I doubt I would get the same reaction from them seeing a bodybuilder on the screen since they already know I lift, but having that option to turn it off would help in some situations.
Exactly. I don’t know anything about HTML or website design so I have no idea how hard it would be to “turn ALL the pictures off” but it seems like a good option to have.

bows head I never knew that was possible. Is it easy to do?

There was a span of a few months where the homepage was all dude-nipples. It felt like a little much, indeed.

But I’d go to the Vix thread and be washed pure.

You know, there is real beauty in having the choice to stick around and deal or just leave, knowing it’s ultimately not your thing. To see a website, a work situation, or a traffic jam and just understand within yourself “you know what, I clearly don’t like this anymore, so I’m goona bounce.”

The whining and crying regarding “something is on this site that I DON’T LIKE so you NEED TO CHANGE IT!” is for the fucking birds man. My life’s too short and my goals are too lofty to be wasting another second complaining about how a website looks or who says what.

In closing, my avatar has a gigantic nutsack.

Oh, almost forgot:

Gazer.

In firefox with images turned off, the style sheets or something get messed up and the recent posts cover the forum links making it impossible to view without turning off the page style.

yet you wasted some of your valuable time and took time away from your lofty goals too bitch and whine about me bitching and whining…

logic fail

reread this post by nards…if you have the time…I know achieving your goals consumes every minute of your day in your way too short life…

Nards said: “Not everyone on the internet, when they say they don’t like something, means that they are screaming in rage and shaking their fist in defiance at the screen.
I just shrug a bit and think that yeah, fewer pics of oiled chests on guys who are on gear would be preferable”

please reread that as many times as it takes to get that I am not upset about this…just voicing an opinion, like you just did, and it took about as much time out of my valuable day spent working towards my lofty goals as it did you.

It sooooo funny how the “above it all” types like you will waste your time posting on a thread that you think is beneath you.

LOL, that was funny as hell. I even felt weird looking at that, and I like dude-nips, or mipples, or whatever.

Hi Brad. That last sentence should be your sign-off on every post.

All I am saying is I would prefer a little less of things like this:

[photo]31622[/photo]

and a little more stuff like this:

[photo]31623[/photo]

before the professional internet arguers say it, groan, I KNOW that the first pic has not actually every appeared on the home page(it is a flex magazine cover) but stuff like it has,

and I am NOT hating on BB by posting a pic of Mat Kroc (a WPO powerlifter), he is ALSO a competitive bodybuilder and in you follow his training log over at EFS his training is more bodybuilder/body part split stuff right now.

so there. bleh!

I agree.

The one today about “Liver Let Die” or something is another one I’m glad to skip past quickly.

I must be homophobic.

Or else very gay…one of the two.

I suppose this thread is gay because I posted a picture of Paco Iforgothisname wearing a speedo and posing at the camera.

If you look at the picture, your eyes will catch on fire, your hair will turn pink and you will become gay.

If you think this statement is ridiculous and what I described did not happen, then you realize a picture of a bare chested big guy does not make you gay, and if so, you must ask yourself, why the hell do you even care about what other people think you are or not ?

You can simply ignore this picture and keep reading the thread. See, was that a big deal ? Now you people do that instead of asking that bodybuilding pictures to be removed from a bodybuilding website.

Really? Serious?

Because I seriously think that if that pic bothers you, you are on the wrong website. I see nothing at all wrong with that pic.

ugh…thought this thread was finally dead. sorry I started it.

I noticed this during the last 2 updates of the site. In order to navigate the site at work without having coworkers ask about the half naked men on my screen, I turn off images for T-Nation.com and bookmark the forum and “log in” links. It takes a few extra clicks but is not a big deal once you get used to it.

No, it doesn’t bother me at all in itself…I’m making fun of the people who called others homophobic or repressed if they said they’d prefer not to have pics like that on the main page when your wife/girfriend/coworker walks by.
I also have to scroll past some sexy anamated avatars or my girlfriend or a coworker will wonder what I’m doing with pics of that too.

When we say this stuff it’s not like we’re a bunch of Maud Flanders from the bible belt or anything, this forum is “Get A Life” and all sorts of mundane things get discussed, so when the OP brought it up, I said yeah, it’d just be a little bit better if they didn’t have those pics on the main page.
It only means just that.
