T-Nation Guitar Players' Thread

Lol…awesome. : )

That particular configuration was called “Redline” (we were all gearheads). In fact, the drummer and I both had similar cars-- I had a '77 Formula Firebird, and he had a '78 TransAm (basically the same car). Cat eye grills, snowflake rims, etc.

LOL that’s great. I wish I had been old enough to appreciate the awesomeness of the 80s.

I’m a bass player, does that count?

(Actually, I DO play guitar too, been playing both since I was 13. I play guitar for fun; bass for serious.)

Of course man! Bass players rule. : ) Without them we would have no bands - only random guitarists, drummers and keys players in search of some bottom end. ; )

Several of my faves - Billy Sheehan, Stu Hamm, Geddy Lee, Stanley Clarke, Steve Harris, Jaco, John Paul Jones, Michael Anthony, John Patittuci, John Myung and Juan Alderete.

There’s tons more of course - we need Yo Momma in here now…

I’m pretty good at guitar hero… I’ll try to get some videos of me laying down some face melting solos

I play guitar, harmonica and banjo, and I’m a bit of a singer too. I used to love all the serious face melting stuff like Steve Vai etc. but feel like I kinda grew out of it.

Nowadays I play mostly country, blues and folk music - I usually throw in some rock acoustic covers too. The last time I played in front of a crowd was a little while ago at a pub. I did a couple of Steve Earle’s songs, some Townes Van Zandt, The Who and a couple of others too. My favourite song to sing + play is The Seeker, it’s so much fun.

Saw Nils Lofgren last week, he was amazing - no doubt the best live guitarist I’ve seen, just really expressive, creative and a great showman. He did one track where he and Greg Varlotta did a tap dancing section, and Nils was playing while tap dancing. Real talented guy.

The pic is me playing at a pub a few months back.

Here is some of our stuff (I’m lead guitar and recorded the 2nd guitar, I was our only guitarist

Have a listen and let me know what you think

^Holy shit bud that’s fucking good metal, great drumming too.

Thanks man. It was the drummer and I who wrote all of the music. Nothing better than just jamming with your bud, writing something you love, and throwing it down in the studio! Playing live is something you can’t even describe to people  easily the best feeling in the world

Haha, yeah that’s what everyone says. I do some singing in the second video “My Mistake” at 1:29, and in the very beginning of “Sink or Swim” on our MySpace page. We’re wanting to get back together and do a lot more singing and make more pop/metal stuff like A Day To Remember, if you listen to them

Lol i know only a couple of songs that everyone knows (Nothing else matters, Stairway, etc) but i do play an assload of video game tabs haha. i know, i know, pretty weaksauce, but games like Chrono Trigger and FF3/7 have some awesome music!
