Guitarists

Any T-folk fall into this catagory? What do you play? (Instrument and style). I proudly include myself as a professional musician. I play very loudly, and people pay me money to stop:)

Played the drums since third grade.

Also have two acoustic guitars, one steel string and one nylon, that I love to play.

Also play keyboards, although not very well…

Cool, I was thinking about posting a guitar thread myself. I play a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop and a steel string acoustic that I built myself.I just play rock, usually get together with some friends and jam, sing and get really friggin drunk! Good times…Good times…

yeah i play guitar. Both accoustic and electric. I own an Ibanez K-7, which is a seven string guitar. I like playing metal and blues.

Me = Absolute Beginner Guitardude

I’ve never played a 7-string, how does it work with the standard blues progession? I have an acoustic and an electric, a PRS and a Martin. I may not be very good, but my equipment is!

i have been known to play the air guitar. after a few shots of vodka of course.

The seventh string is tuned to a B, you pretty much can only use it for metal and when the E string is open. It’s still a friggen sweet guitar. It also has 24 frets.

I love playing on my guitars. I’ve got a 6 string Vester, 7 string Ibanez and a crappy old acoustic. I mostly play metal and rock, or just whatever I feel like at the time.

You want a 7-string guitar for the standard blues progression? I believe the bottom string is B and you can play normall barre chords with the “normal form” because of the tuning. I would imagine that tuning it down so it plays like a drop-D would sound pretty awesome. I guess that would be a drop-A tuning on that guitar.

Wes Borland who used to be in Limp Bizcuit played a 7 string, Seems to make a thicker sound…

I play, poorly, but still like to mess around on my accoustic.

I’m a brass monkey, Trumpet. Love jazzy kinda stuff.

Billy

I’ve played for almost 9 years. I have a crappy Squier electric (starter guitar), an Epiphone Les Paul body style electric, a crappy six string acoustic, a Yamaha 12 string, attempting to learn the banjo and am looking for a resonator for Christmas. I mostly play blues and classic rock. Anyone know of a good resonator for a fairly reasonable price?

Play a Martin D-16 half a step down at present with a lil Fender acoustic that stays in C6 tuning or whatever the hell it is.

Otherwise, I do some percussion and kazoo, and lead and backup vocals…looking to buy a dulcimer, anyone know who makes quality ones?

hey Paul…Im self teaching right now with a Fender Strat. Love it…
My guitar idol is Joe Satriani…da man!!..with a close second to Steve Vai.

I’ve been playing for about 20 years now, self taught. I’ve spent about 12 years playing the circuit in the Miami ft. Lauderdale area. I have 6 guitars but my favorites are a 78 candy red telecaster and my hot pink Charvel strat copy with Floyd Rose tremolo(80’s hair band throwback). Oddly enough, I play blues more than anything with Stevie Ray being my main influence. I’m also a big Steve Morse and Steve Vai fan. There are a couple of guys at my gym that play drums and bass so,we are going to try jamming after the holidays.

I’ve got a B.C. Rich electric and Washburn acoustic. Mostly play blues, classic rock and some alternative. Like to have informal jams occasionally, but have never performed with a band, except at parties and the like.

Mostly just play with myself…

Well, you know

synerjism you git, 've wanted a K7 for years now and stil can’t aford one.

Been playing for 2 years on xmas day and mainly into rock stuff.

Nice way to cool down after a shit day at work!

I’ve been playing guitar for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at it.

My electric is A Ibanez RG400. Since a lot of you are listing your tunings, mine is the very unique EADGBE! :D)

Joe Satriani is also my fqavorite, with Vai as a clsoe second.

I’ve been playing since i was 9 (10 years) and love it. I know no theory and can’t read sheet music but its an easy way of meeting the girlies, especially in the dorm setting here at school. My arsenal includes a american std strat, gibson sg, epiphone les paul flame top and a couple acoustics that never get played
