It’s here. I’ve been waiting for this moment since January 5th…
I’ll start out by announcing my team…
Been to every home Hurricanes game since I was seven… Now in my home away from home its much more difficult to sit behind the TV. But I still am 100% Hurricanes.
Let’s hear it…
Who is your team…
talk it up…
predicitions…
I am a graduate of Florida State University(and so is my wife)…and my team is the one that just beat the Hurricanes monday night!!!
Yes I know…we’ve been spanked the last 6 years…just let me enjoy this one moment…is it too much to ask?
I have nothing against the Irish…but every sports reporter is taliking about their victory as if they just won a national title. They beat a crappy Pitt team…Wait till next week against Michigan…If they win big there…then start patting ND on the back.

Fear the 'stache…
It’d be nice to see Pitt come back and be one of the kings of the Big East again.
I’m not a fan of the Big East conference. I think it gets a bad rap and is better than the media portrays it to be, but Eastern football is too fragmented right now with PSU in the Big Ten(11) and BC in the ACC. With that said, if anyone can bring Pitt back to the elite of CFB, it’s Wannstedt. It wouldn’t surprise me if Pitt is a regular in the top 15 or even top 10 within the next 3-5 years.
Doh! As a Syracuse grad, I’m not too happy with the way things went for the BE this weekend. Not a great start. I was all juiced up for the SU-WVU game on Sunday until the SU offense sucked ass! Pitt stunk vs ND. Rutgers never disappoints in the new ways to embarrass themselves. Louisville barely held on vs Kentucky. I know I’m leaving someone out here who screwed up too.
I do think the BE will be back better than it was in the mid 90s - at least top to bottom. I like what’s happening in CNY right now with the SU program. They have pumped in a ton of $$$ over the last 9 months since they canned the AD and coaching staff. New cutting edge weight room, the largest Field Turf contract to date (game field as well as 3 practice fields).

Life is good. FSU 10, Miami 7, is better!
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! Seriously, i have seen more difficult field goals made by high school players! Very disappointing…
As you may recall, FSU missed a gimme FG too. If UM and FSU had both made their gimmes, final score woulda been 13 - 10 Noles.
Gotta be a tough loss for the U but I am Oh so happy! HOW BOUT DEM NOLES!
How 'bout both the UM and FSU defenses? Awesome!
UM should have made all three of their attempted field goals, it was all from bullshit mistakes and thye would have won even if they only made the two that Peatie missed (16-13 final if FSU would have made their gimme, too). Either way, i think Wrigth and Olsen are gonna have a good 3rd down conversion rate assuming the O-line steps it up (9 sacks! WHAT IS THAT?)

Even if we did take a nasty spanking from Notre Dame last night, even if our qb has a messed up hand, Pitt is still my school and my team but I hope yesterday is not a sign of things to come.
…Stupid Irish
Should’ve seen that one coming when the only Sr. starting DT was out the entire first half of the game and 5 of the 9 DL in Pitt’s rotation were playing in their first D1-A CFB game of their careers. ND’s OL is very, very good, too, which made things worse. I think they played together as a unit for the better part of two years. Wannstedt will get the ship righted, but it’ll take time. I think our DL will be serviceable by midseason and be really kickass within two years if our current recruiting class is any indication.

LOL Our mascot looks like a penis??? Well that’s not a bad thing I guess hehehe…
Big arse game this Sat....Bucks v Longhorns. The winner will quite possibly have number 2 locked up if they run the table and probably end up playing USC whose schedule is less than difficult.
GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!

It’s going to take a couple of years. UL and Pitt are the only teams that have a legitimate chance of cracking the top 25 at the end of the season in the BE. I wouldn’t take too much away from the Pitt-ND game. Two of our starting players (DT and OLB) missed the game and the DL was reduced to rotating 5 true or redshirt Freshman in the 9-man rotation. Match that up against ND’s veteran OL that has two Parade AA’s and have played together in college for the last two years and you get the debacle you saw last Saturday.
Recruiting rankings don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but your chances of having great players goes up a lot the higher you’re ranked and Wannstedt is racking up a pretty sick recruiting class this year that addresses some major needs. That bodes well for the future. If he can keep up that type of recruiting the next couple of classes, Pitt should be a strong program (read: BCS contender) in only a few years time.
Syracuse will get there too, IMO. But it’s going to take them a while longer. Pasqualoni’s last 2 or 3 recruiting classes have been pretty bad and that’s going to bite Robinson in the ass a few times before he completely rights the ship.
Hey, watch out for my Boilermakers and their No Name defense. They have an easy schedule (no Ohio State or Michigan) this year and a strong squad. Joe Tiller is a great coach, who consistently produces a winning team (something like 8 straight bowl appearances and counting). This could be their year to go to the Rose Bowl. If so, then watch for the band to present “I Am An American”:
Of course I’m a Buckeye fan too - got my Masters degree there. My ideal Rose Bowl will have the undefeated Buckeyes playing the undefeated Boilermakers to decide the national championship (and who really is the Big 10 champ this year). A guy can dream…
