T-Nation Book

Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I thought I’d share an idea and get everyone’s take on it.

I think we can all agree that the info on this site is beyond priceless: all these informative articles available to the public for free.

So, I was thinking that maybe T-Nation could create a book or journal or whatever for sale containing the articles on this site printed on paper, separated by author. I would pay a handsome fee just for the articles by Waterbury and Berardi alone, nicely printed and organized… plus there are a whole host of other great authors/trainers, etc.

I know the articles are available online but I personally wouldn’t mind having them on paper. So this idea would benefit T-Nation ($) and also lazy people like me who don’t want to go ahead and print hundreds of articles.

Anyone else agree with me on this? What do you guys think?

keep pushing,
Ironbarr

Although I think this would be a good idea, there are too many articles written too quickly to keep it up to date. Plus, alot of guys on here have their own books/videos anyway.

Excellent point!

To work around that, they could create a “binder” like book and when new articles are written, they could be ordered and you just slip them into your T-Nation “book”… just an idea.

The author royalty/copyrighting issues T-Nation would have to figure out…

I’d pay a fee for a book by Dan John.

Oh wait he has a book on his site available for free

I’ve thought about copy and pasting the articles into Word and printing them off in some organized fashion. It takes quite a while though.

As far as making a book, sure, I would also be interested. They could even come out with yearly additions or something. However, it would be time consuming and expensive for T-Nation to do this and I doubt they would have much of a market for it. If anything they might make some money off an e-book version of it. Save on the printing. Again, not much of a market.

Hmm…all the articles in the world, printed or otherwise, aren’t gonna rack shit in the gym and kitchen. If the info is free and always available then use it, it’s not going anywhere.

im sure id buy it

Don’t need to copy and paste into word. They have a link at the bottom of every article “Text Version” so that we can easily print these out on our own. I’m sure many of us already do this to have hard copies of the particular articles and workout plans that we find interesting. Save the money on the book; buy some Biotest supplements instead if you’d like to fund the company.

Using the text version at the bottom of the article, I copy and paste that into a html doc in word and save it off. I have almost the whole site archived by author.

Yeah, but the formatting sucks and most articles with pictures end up as 30 pages long (at least Hammer Down did and that was the last one I tried that with - to be fair it was a loooong article). That and the text is gold, so there’s still some formatting that needs to happen.

I’m cool with taking notes.

I’ll agree that some of the articles will come out to be pretty long. But with those, as has already been suggested, you can copy and paste the sections you want into a word processor.

Also, when I do the Text Version, it turns to black colored font.

Does anyone have the site, or most of, archived in any way? I wouldn’t mind getting a copy. I started with some articles a while back, but to go back to '98 would be ridiculous time-wise. I’d appreciate if anyone has done this to PM me about it. Thanks.

I would definitely purchase that book.

5 Articles a week, 52 weeks a year for the last 8 years guys.

Thats over 2,000 articles, not to mention PAGES. The “binder” you would have to get would be THICK AS HELL to hold any of that. Thats like a 10,000 page “book” guys… No chance is that happening.

Just do a search for the articles you would like and then click on “Printable Version”
