As a beginner, I come here for articles, training ideas and forum voice. The articles are top notch and basically begging to be read. So why not read as much as you can, try to learn as much as you can when you can? LOL.
I don’t agree with everything I read, but one thing I can remember from AC is that “You never get dumber from reading”. I learned alot from this site and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t affect my thinking/wanting of being a PT/SC in the future.
At first, I just lifted weights to look better and be stronger, but after doing it full time, it basically became a passion. Knowing that you’re not alone in this thing made me work harder and appreciated everyone who worked their ass of in the gym, no matter what kind of silly shit they did.
People look at you funny when you go to the buffet and stock your plate with chicken and broccoli. But you log in and you’ll see that some dude would’ve done the same thing.

I don’t have a problem with Chris or any other author on the site (probably because I rarely read the articles anymore), but Biotest has good products that stand on their own. My point was simple: if this guy doesn’t like the articles that have been posted - who cares? He’s free not to read them. He should also be free to express his opinion. He is not going to hurt Biotest or T-Nation in any way whatsoever and there is nothing to be gained by staff attacking him. That is all.
You obviously don’t run a business…
You’re right. Flippant attacks are clearly the mark of a good businessman.
Correct me if I’m wrong but Shugart earns his living with this site as do MANY others. Only an asshole would post something with no support behind it and not give a shit that this is how lots of (staff-members) pay the bills.
People like him suck because you just know he’d never actually show up at the front door and actually SAY shit like that. Anonymity blows sometimes.
And surely he’ll be spreading this crap at other sites for no good reason.
Why doesn’t he tell us where he works so we can bad-mouth his workplace to thousands of potential customers?

Maybe CS doesn’t like to sugar coat shit and tells it how it is. He has nothing to lose telling off that guy. He actually gains a little more respect from me, cuz guy has some cajones.

LOL @ Lanky… I KNEW I should have joined earlier instead of just lurking all those years… now I’m stuck as an '09 member forever… hopefully the 2010 class will be worse (is that possible???)
If I were you, I’d rejoin in 2010 and simply hope the 2010 members are better.

NO, but catering to non customers is a waste of resources.

he basically just encouraged the people who spend hours on the internet hunting down hilarious pictures of jesus giving people the middle finger not to get too worked up. I don’t see anything unprofessional.

For the record, that pic took me a total of 20 seconds to find.
I’m one of those that can post from work during the summer months. Not so much from January-April.
I stopped reading your post after this point, I can’t comment on the rest.

Don’t think I haven’t thought about it! But with my luck 2010 would start great and then go to shit and be even worse… maybe someone from 2009 will redeem us… maybe

Not for nuthin… but it doesn’t take “cajones” to tell someone off on the internet.

I smell some trolling action but I find the articles on here sometimes great, sometimes shitty, it is what it is. But the forums on here are the best anywhere without a doubt.

I’m sorry, I retract my previous statement. Irish, you’re right. It apparently does NOT take balls to to tell someone off on the internet. Continue…

I agree with OP. I stopped reading the articles mainly because they became boring, plus I have read hundreds so I guess it just becomes the same stuff after a while. And I am focused on bodybuilding. They only really appeal to the beginner/intermediate trainer IMO. Not all, but most. I don’t think its fair to say the 09 articles suck, probably have just outgrown the need for the latest fad.
So what if the articles are free. I doubt Biotest would make more money if they started charging for them anyway. If they wanted to charge, they would, but the business plan is a solid one. What really sells the products is probably the word of mouth recommendations from people on this forum.
And that’s what they really need to fix. These fucking forums.
This is called feedback. Extremely valuable for most companies.
