The best was Metallica, 1992, LSU assembly center. No opening act. 3 hours of Metallica.
The runner up is Linkin Park in 2003. they rocked UNO Lakefront Arena.
Oh, I forgot, I saw Page/Plant in 1995. The last portion of the show was nothing but old rocking Zeppelin stuff. Page still got it. I was in awe that I got to see the legends perform live. An amazing concert.

Just saw System of a Down at the Long Beach Arena friday night. Fucking intense. Mars Volta opened (what’s with the lead singers fro?). They’d be a lot cooler if it was the 70’s. Metallica Summer Sanitarium (July 4, 2000) was pretty bad ass too.
I was at that Summer Sanitarium tour on 7/4 (in Baltimore, right?). It was awesome.
Metallica always delivers live. Just saw them this past October in Philly w/Godsmack. THey played almost everything off of Lightning and Puppets.
Other than that, the Jagermeister Tour last fall with Slayer and Killswitch Engage was incredible.
Biggest regret? Never seeing Pantera live…

Yeah, that was in Baltimore…Great show. I’ve been trying to see them since but the Corps always has me somewhere far far away when they are in town…I never saw Pantera either and so much for the reunion tour (funny, it was some ex-Jarhead that killed Dimebag)…Crazy Marines…
OK, I know it’s not metal but I just saw Greenday in concert on Saturday and they put on a great show. I could not believe how many songs they played.
I saw def leopard in buffalo in april 1988 for their hysteria tour that was a great show…tesla opened for them (I never liked tesla though).
For me it was Metallica live in Manila in 93 or 94. f’king awesome! i never knew the extent of their fan base in asia until i saw this show… the baricades were broken down as soon as the lights went of and it was pure chaos for 2 and a half hours. scary good!
Metallica and Raven (Kill em all for one tour), 1983, at a Roller Rink in Marlboro NJ. Both bands just released albums and Metallica was just starting to become HUGE.

Judas Priest Defending the Faith Tour that got them banned from Madison Square Garden[/quote]
What did they do to get banned?
Metallica 1991
Pantera and Slayer
Suicidal Tendencies
Gwar
I saw Guns and Roses in Jan 1992 at the San Diego Sports arena. Being a huge fan but never having seen them I was still totally blown away
Tool–Denver’s Pepsi Center, Boulder’s Coors Event Center, Red Rocks
A Perfect Circle–Denver’s Magness Arena
Seems like we have a little theme going here with Maynard…
May 2002. Ozzfest. SOAD, Slayer and Tool, all in a row!!!
