Swim Your Own Race

Good work for the upper-body, is the shoulder stability/strength getting any better?

Looks like the work capacity is coming up as well.

I am starting to see good forward progress in here Ksnap!

Rik

I love reading all the accessory stuff and am very interested in the clean eating.
It IS a lot of work to eat that way. If you add in any level of cardio activity you just find yourself eating constantly to maintain weight. Especially with your metabolism, I bet. So, don’t do any cardio.

Stronger shoulders and arms are sure to get that bench up!

Snap, you are getting back to your cyborg self! LOL

I wanted to introduce you to the co-founder of the group “Girls Gone Strong”…she is someone, like you, who embodies beauty and strength (yes, that is a compliment  ): Molly Galbraith | Strong Women Lift Each Other Up

Ditto. I’m inspired by your drive and excited for you on the progress, Snap!

btw, I’ve been following GGS for some time - though I tend to migrate towards co-founders Marianne Kane and Neghar Fonooni (their KB work, in particular, inspires me) and Nia Shanks, aka “Beautiful Badass” deadlift gal. They lead a movement to “redefine what it means to train like a girl.”

Shoulders and arms FTW!

I eat pretty much the same foods day in and day out, so the prep work is routine now and I’m good at it. You’ll get into the swing of it too.

Just getting caught up in here. Really good work and this is a really cool direction that you’re going in. I really never expected to see it. I’m equally excited about the change in diet. I think that’s the last step for people who are truly serious end up.

Squats looked great. More vids.

james

Thats a lot of freaking volume.

Yea, eating plans are a lot of work, but get easier.

Ha on the Arnolds, I had one of the guys, Hara or Matty remind me of those, Oh the burn…

Im so excited to see how you grow from all your tweaks and changes!! You have such a deep passion for this sport,it will be great fun to watch, thanks for sharing with us.

Well, I’m not noticing changes in strength/stability yet, Rick. But I just switched upper body programming a week ago. Definitely more focus on unilateral work (DB) and smaller muscle groups. More accessory. Not just bench, bench, bench. Which is a-okay with me.

Thank you, Kairiki and KBgirl, for the nice compliments.

Kimba: I am already in the new diet groove. Just took a little time. You were right. As usual.

James: Hmm. Your comment about never expecting to see such changes perplexes me a bit. At some point, a person has to face up to the fact that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is just plain stupid. I may just be more stupid than most.

Another good training day and videos for James.

Squat
8/45
5/75
3/10/95
1/110 (bodyweight)
1/125
1/140 walkout and 10-second hold

Seated GMs
3/8/70

Sumo DL
5/115
3/10/145

Modified sumo DL
1/185
1/200 ugly

Finished out with lying hammie curls and planks (3 x 90 seconds)

I’ve been doing 10s for awhile. Time to switch it up. May go back to one of Fischer’s programs for squat and DL. No more singles for awhile either.

On a personal note, we got a puppy this weekend. A little Jack Russell. Oh my. It’s like having a toddler all over again.

Strong work. Jack Russells are a hand full, it sounds like you have your conditioning set for a while keeping up with that little bugger. Oh, and I really want a pair of those socks, they’re freaking awesome.

Great look deads, Snap. Probably better form than me.

Good sumos, maybe better for your size than I would do. (I am not doing sumos for the sake of my hamstring, but I realize they tend to be lighter than conventional deads). I had thought the grip to use was double overhand, I suppose I am corrected.

I agree the socks are neat.

x3 on those socks.

Good work going on with a good attitude as well.

Nice lifting Snap. You’ve got really good form.
Are you squatting in Doc Martins? Very cool if so.

Love watching others vids, esp women. Its the only time i get to see it.

Is that your “sweet spot” where your legs are on squat? Im sure I would fall down or get stuck, but you have a similar stance for your modified DL.

Love your energy in here!!!

Snap - I suppose what I meant was that you’ve struck me as a traditionalist when it comes to the big lifts so to see the bodybuilder-esque work in here was a bit surprising. But I do think that the lines get blurred and it’s more about doing whatever you need to get the particular results you want.

james

You really can’t go wrong following Fischer’s advice. Is there a meet or a goal you are shooting for?
