Palin was never on a swiftboat crew. Shows what you people know!

I like to hear both sides to any issue, which is part of the reason I read this forum at all. It just gets frustrating when the ‘debate’ devolves into petty name calling.
The older I get, the less black and white issues become. I’ll never understand why someone wouldn’t want to hear the opposing view unless they are somehow afraid that they will be unable to defend their beliefs.
I think this is the biggest problem with the forum. People here actually pride themselves on incivility. Name calling and personal attacks are almost immediate upon hearing any point that is not perfectly in line with the beliefs of a few on here.
Extreme (almost always) right wing views are the norm, this really isn’t a problem though. It’s the attacks that come almost immediately that are troubling. That and the debating tactics that are used in lieu of honest arguments.
I hope the people start calling others on incivility and name calling and this forum can be a place for honest debate.
By the way, I like the incivility. It’s part of the fun.
If I want to be polite and pandering about politics I’ll talk to my boss.
If I want to call someone a flaming fucking jerkoff because they think ugly ass Palin is going to be a good VP, I actually get to do it here.[/quote]
I don’t mind some back and forth, although I’ll almost never participate myself. I think it distracts from the actual argument.
To me, what is disheartening is when new people come to the forum and they’re immediately attacked to the point that they leave. A new voice will show up and they’ll be attacked, not their arguments, but personal attacks and they leave.

Just because I care so much, I am going to begin making the argument from the Left. I’m switching teams.

Welcome to the politics form. If you can’t take it then don’t come in. It gets dished out plenty from both sides. People espousing their christian faith are treated as badly, if not worse, as left-wing, american-hating radicals.
I make no apologies for what I say, or how I say it. To think this place is about honest debate, or has ever been so, is a fucking joke.
If someone is so weak of constitution that they can’t defend themselves in a flame war, then perhaps they should find a more heavily moderated forum where everyone shares their toys, and the moderators hand out juice boxes when you you are extra nice.

That must be the difference then. I’m a big fan of middle aged milf. At the gym I used to train at, they used to roll in at about 9 in the morning for their workouts. Moneyed up housewives with nothing better to do than get to the gym and stay in shape. Ahhhhh, I miss that place.
Governor Palin has moved to a top position in my spank bank ![]()

You oughta know better than this.
Juice causes an insulin spike and is hence much too fattening.

I don’t think you can do it. You’re much too conservative to be able to convincingly argue the other side :). But it could be fun to read…
This place is hilarious for the cartoonish Hannity/Limbaugh type right-wing hacks. Only on this board could I come off as a “libuhral.”
Unless you think that we didnt descend from Adam’s rib 6,000 years ago, that Jesus would be a neo-con, supply-side, warhawk, that outrageous defecit spending is good, and that Bush hasnt been one of the worst presidents in history…well you obviously hate America. There are very, very few balanced posters who dont cheer for “their side” like it’s their favorite sports team.
It’s kind of like going to a marxist message board and judging liberals based on the posters on that board.
There are a few boards out there with some decent balanced political discussion. MMA.tv’s offtopic board has a lot of activity (political and not) and good discussion from both sides (although you do have your share of left & right hacks)

Then by all means, go chat it up with the MTV crowd. It’s not like you contribute anything to this forum.

Anyone that preaches at a church with an onward christian soldiers message should be an instant political red flag but alas in the bizarre world of American politics this is an asset instead of a liability.
Thomas Jefferson:
?? In extracting the pure principles which he taught, we should have to strip off the artificial vestments in which they have been muffled by priests, who have travestied them into various forms, as instruments of riches and power to themselves. We must dismiss the Platonists and Plotinists, the Stagyrites and Gamalielites, the Eclectics, the Gnostics and Scholastics, their essences and emanations, their logos and demiurges, aeons and daemons, male and female, with a long train of ? or, shall I say at once, of nonsense. We must reduce our volume to the simple evangelists, select, even from them, the very words only of Jesus, paring off the amphibologisms into which they have been led, by forgetting often, or not understanding, what had fallen from him, by giving their own misconceptions as his dicta, and expressing unintelligibly for others what they had not understood themselves. There will be found remaining the most sublime and benevolent code of morals which has ever been offered to man."

Keep em comin. There’s enough to provide weeks of round the clock reading.
As for what you’re saying about media bias and FOX above. 2 things are going on here with that.
-
Every other media outlet is more or less liberal enough to make the simple balanced coverage of both sides seem conservative by comparison.
-
Having said the above, let’s not kid ourselves, FOX is right leaning and is pulling for the Republicans. However, having now said that, they do report both sides and are right up front with stories that may be damaging to the Mccain camp as well. Supporters are routinely asked about inconsistencies in Mccain’s or Palin’s ads and campaign messages.
I only watch FOX and have no shortage of news pertaining to musical positions on the bridge to nowhere, troopergate, book burning, repetitive stump speeches etc.
While I’m talking about FOX, I think the Hannity interview is a bad idea for Palin. The blatant kissy face orgy that that will no doubt be may hurt her in the eyes of the public.

Who said there were no arguments? Just because you get your feelings hurt over the tone of the arguments does not mean they do not exist.
That’s the problem with you new age vroom dipshits - you come in here and try to change the way we talk to each other because you don’t like it. You can’t, and nobody gives a shit if you like it or not.

In all honesty - I don’t give a scouring dog shit about what you mean. You’re the mouthy little bitch who comes in and thinks he can change the way things are done. Well, how’s it going? I can see you have had a real affect on this forum.
You have displayed a serious lack of reading comprehension since you have decided to grace this forum with your presence.
I said this is not a place for honest debate - and it’s not. That does not mean that there are not arguments - which there are in abundance.
I really don’t see what is so fucking confusing to you.
