Yeah, I noticed you changed in the video. Any reason why? Is one stronger or is it just a chick thing that I wouldn’t understand?

EDIT: BTW, I doesn’t need mentioned but those squats looked really strong!

I hope you can get some decent sleep soon! I would be a ticking time bomb. (^:

Both wraps are good. The first ones are the rpm’s and I get a ton of length out of them. The second set are the THP’s and they’re much stiffer. I switched up just to have a back-to-back comparison of them. In a pinch I think I’d take the THPs but that’s only if I had to pick.

RL thanks for the compliment on the squats. Narrowing my stance just a wee bit made a world of difference. I feel like I could grind out 325 in the old/loose suit right now. It’s still going on super easily. Who knows what I’ll get out of the new one.

I wish I could get some sleep. I had another shit night last night. It’s worse the nights when I’ve trained. I have the day off today and just got up an hour ago but my hands are still aching me. I don’t feel like I slept properly at all. The only times I’ve slept well recently is then I’ve taken a tylenol three before going to bed.

I’m going to see my chiro after the meet. I don’t want to go now because his ART kicks my ass for a while afterwards and I can’t afford that at the moment.

I hope you can get some sleep soon too. Have you tried napping? If you can’t get through the night maybe you can supplement with a nap at some other time?

Some people take melatonin, reporting that it helps them get to - and stay - asleep. I personally think a good conk to the head will accomplish the same thing with no cash outlay.

I took melatonin once and ended up with a hangover. I wasn’t even drinking!

Do you recommend a head board for the implement?

Poor Poor OB_s…

Rugger you are the M.A…N.

OB_s have a great weekend and get some rest- epsom salt bath,
a glass or two of red wine and you should be out like a light,
if that doesnt work try Rugger’s suggestion.

O_S - I had some sleep issues about 3 weeks ago for the first time in ages and found this thread in the T-Cell. I now take 300mg chelated magnesium about an hour before bed and it really helps me GET to sleep and i feel very rested when i wake up. Might be worth a try…

Cheers

It isn’t that I have a problem getting to sleep. It’s that my body is in so much pain, particularly when I’m lying down that I wake up and don’t sleep soundly.

I’m going to see my chiro after the meet on Saturday. I think he will be able to sort me out. I don’t want to go this week because any visits I make to him usually tap me out and it flattens me for a few days.

I feel like an old lady right now. Bleah.

How’s your protein intake? I’ll start feeling like hammered dog crap if I don’t get enough - just before something unpleasant happens to me in training.

Okay. I’m so tired, I only just got this one. I’ve tried this method. Repeatedly. While results have been stellar, they haven’t made me unconscious.

That may also tie into Albino’s question on protein intake. That’s been fine too. hahaha

Sunday August 23, GL Burlington

Last training day before the meet

Warm up

Squat
45x10
95x5
135x5
165x5
195x1 - belt
225x3 straps down
255x2 straps up/wrapped - Frank was with me and depth was borderline on the first rep so I went for a second
275x2 straps up/wrapped - same as 255. This is my opener so I better get with the fucking program on depth. It wasn’t really high so much as on the line. I’m going to have to really think about my warm ups and go close to my opener. It won’t tire me out because it isn’t really heavy for me but it will get me hitting depth at that weight. I may warm up to 265.
295x1
305x0 - For some reason I really hit this one wrong and went pitching forward into the pins. I managed to twist my right knee underneath me. It felt like something tweaked. It still hurts but not unbearably and I’m icing it.

Bench
45x10
65x5
95x3
105x1
115x3 - shirt on. I added this into the warm up because previously I was going right to my opener with the shirt on. Because my bench is so ass sucky, I wasn’t sure I could even touch in a lighter weight. We left the shirt loose and it was fine.
135x1 - with commands
140x1 - commands
150x1 - commands

Bench was better than squat but we’ll see how everything goes on Saturday. At this point, I’ll just be glad to get on the board with my squat and move along.

I could conceivably get my elite total if I go 8 for 9 but after my last stellar performance, I’m just going to go, do it, and have some fun. I’m not going to worry about pressuring myself with elite total or the 3 records that are within my grasp. My squat opener will beat the current record but I don’t think I’ll announce I’m going for the record since they look at you even more closely. If I get my opener, I may announce it for my second or even third.

I almost forgot. I slept 9 hours last night. They started selling Aleve in Canada and I took a couple of those before bed and they helped with the pain immensely. I felt so good after getting that much sleep.

Too bad I seem to train better on shit sleep

Take care of that knee, dearie. Yikes.

If they use the same software we use in USAPL, it might automatically indicate a record attempt, FYI.

I’m icing my knee and it should be fine. I’m taking comfort in the fact that it just aches and isn’t swollen. I’m pretty sure it was helped considerably by my post-workout mattress GPP during which I made repeated efforts with the headboard assisted medical help for my sleeping issues.

I don’t think that the software we use is very advanced. It’s a version of excel. At least I hope that is still is. I’d rather just get my squats in this time than go for a record.
