Sweet Pollyanna in LaLa land

Aww, that sucks, but at least you got that experience. Did you continue to compete? What happened with the squats - high or heavy?
I didn’t get to compete after that. It was nice to sit and watch everyone else though.

My first one I went into wrong and couldn’t get it up even though it was a light weight (275 opener) The next two were high at the same weight. I felt like shit for five minutes and then looked around at a room full of veteran lifters, all of whom have bombed at least once, gave my head a shake and enjoyed the rest of the day.

That sucks.

Hopefully I’ll be able to make it out to watch the London comp.

On a lighter note, if you’re going to bomb, do it on squats and get it over early!

Now rest up some and start looking forward to the next competition.

I think you are incredible. If you are not failing, you are not trying. Bless you and have a great week.

Just a very brief update:

I shit the bed and bombed on squats. I had my head up my ass. Now that I’ve popped my bomb-out cherry I can move along. On the upside, I had a blast the entire weekend and it was a lot of fun watching everyone else lift. Of particular interest was our very own Sensgirl who took a national bench record and totally rocked it out. She’s a super strong lady and a lot of fun to hang with. Also fun to watch was Shany Gilbert, a Quebec CPO lifter who had no problem whatsoever lifting in a CPU meet. She was a sweet girl and great to watch.

I’ve decided to compete in the London open which is August 29 so the ride home was spent planning a short training cycle for that meet.
London will never know what hit them! See you in August!

I’m looking forward to seeing both of you in London. You’re wife made me laugh with some of her comments at the end as we were cleaning up. It’s always nice to find out that you aren’t the only one thinking something

Welcome to the club that no one wants a membership to! You will come back stronger for it…trust me. Been there and done that

I am sorry to hear about the meet J :frowning:

But, like you said… once you took a look around and seen where you were and who you were with, you sorted yourself out and IMHO… that is the sign of a true champion.

There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.

Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

It’s nothing against you to fall down flat, but to lie there–that’s disgrace."

I am supposed to be working that weekend, but I am gonna see if I can get the time off and come down and cheer you guys on.

Keep smilin’ kiddo!

Good, back on your feet in no time! Like Malinda said, welcome to the club no one wants to be in LOL.
Keep learning, kicking ass and taking names Jules.

Diana, sexy new picture. I like it. A lot. Is that gay?

Anyway, we already talked last night about how I’m changing my training and what I’ll dial back the night before a meet

I’m getting back in the rack tomorrow night. Training going into this meet I’ll be doing triples in my suit straps down, raw speed work and heavy singles once each week. So squatting 3x/week. Bench is raw, assistance stuff and shirt work once/week each. DL assistance and rack pulls only until 4 weeks out or so. My friend that will be coaching me at the meet said the wide stance squat work will take care of deadlift for a while.

Yes, but only the a lot part (LOL)

OB_s

rough break about the bomb out- glad you can see the silver lining.

It doesn’t negate the good training cycle you just did-
and its a part of the gig… and I bet it provides good motivation

looking to hearing about your next round of training.

You’re the only one to admit to it!

That sucks about the squats! Sorry to read that O. I am sure you’ll be sharper than ever for London though.

Thanks Ddot. It really is tough to break parallel with your head up your own ass.

The same applies when you’re shitting the bed!

Yes it was pretty funny. It’s always good to come on here and realise I’m not the only idiot that laughs at shit like that.

In fairness its hard to break parallel with your head up someone elses ass too.

You’ll get’em next time.
