Surge Taste

I bought two buckets of Surge in september. Despite everyone saying how good it is, I find I don’t like it.

Do you guys/gals add anything to it to make it taste better? Is there a specific ratio that you find especially tasty? About half a month ago I gave up on it and haven’t gone back since.

Cheers,
Contach

I was the same way. The one thing that I did that made a bit of difference was cut down on the amount of water you mix it with. If it’s 16 oz, try 14, if you dont like that try 13 and so on, but i wouldnt go part 12. Not sure if you’ve tried that, but that might help. I also just forced myself ot drink it and eventually I got to loving it.

What flavor did you get? Personally I prefer the old flavor.

Have you been taking awhile? I know it took me about a week and and then I really liked it. A person I recommended it to awhile back gagged it down the first few times but then he couldn’t wait to have it. Maybe give it some more time?

By using different amounts of water you can get a variety of “tastes” out of Surge. If you find it to be too sweet, try using a lot more water. Some people find adding in some ice changes it up a bit too.

Just play around with it and I’m sure you’ll be able to find something you like.

as far as mixing ratios, i use 3 cups of very cold water to 1 scoop of Surge. i also try to consume it immediately after mixing. for some reason, it seems to taste better that way.

that’s all based on the original flavor, though. have no idea how the new berry flavor tastes, and don’t really have a reson to try it - love the original stuff.

I’m in the same boat as you. I tried to mix it differently, but no matter what I tried it would always taste really…bitter?..or some other bad taste that I can’t detect.

I found that mixing it with cold, cold water then adding a few ice cubes makes it taste pretty good.

I hated it until I started diluting it with ice and now I LOVE the stuff. It also just takes some getting used to. I use 16 oz of ice/water (probably 8 oz of ice covered with enough water to make 16 oz) for 1 scoop. It’s GREAT!

Thats the whey hydrolysate… for some reason I noticed this too initially… then it all kinda disappeared… and I started to enjoy it.

all I know is Surge gives me the worst breath right after drinking it, but it hasn’t stopped me from sucking it back…

Surge is an odd animal. You would have a hard time getting anyone to buy a product with the idea it will likely taste horrible the first few times they drink it with the hopes it will get better. The funny thing about though is that almost everyone who has tried it either didn’t like it right away or just kinda liked it- but all of those same people eventually came to love and actually crave the stuff. This is based on all of the posts I’ve seen, and my own persoanl experience.

Truth is- if you really don’t like it than don’t use it. I’m not sure what you didn’t like about it. If you think it’s too sweet then the new raspberry flavor is definitely not going to help, as it’s about 4.85x sweeter.

There is no reason to force it down your throat when there are other PWO alternatives.

It is bad at the beginning but it gets better. Let’s be honest, though, you shoudldn’t be sipping your Surge like it’s some kind of fine wine. Chug that baby down. Even if it still tastes bad your done in 3 seconds.

You guys are nuts. Surge tastes like liquid angel food cake. The new rasberry is good too, but I like original the best.

Seriously. Ive never had the new one, but the original tastes like candy to me. Angel food cake is the best way to describe it.

I never really minded the original Surge flavor, and I don’t even like angel food cake, which it does taste like. I might be the minority, but I just tried my old Surge today after going through a bucket of new Raspberry Surge…

It wasn’t horrible or gross by any means, but honestly, I think angel food cake flavor is a little much during training. I MUCH prefer the Raspberry Punch flavor of the new one, and will be buying that from now on. Definitely sweet, but the fruit flavor kinda offsets it for me. I like that one a lot.

If sweetness is a problem, try slamming half be4 you train, then readd water to dilute it more for sipping during the workout. Thats usually what I do, and that way I don’t run out half way through my training.

I’m with these guys; the angel food was a bit too cloying for me for the gym (PWO was okay, but in the gym…), but the raz rocks. I’ve ditched drinking anything else during the workout for the raz, it’s so tasty.

SDSR

the original-original flavor was way better than the current “original” flavor. that stuff was crazy good. i don’t know why they ever changed it.

I tossed some berry flavored creatine in it and it tasted like angel food cake to me.

Personally I love the new raspberry flavor Surge way more than the original! Just wish I can get it in Canada instead of having to order from the US.

My thoughts exactly. I just eat it with a spoon in powder form and then drink a bunch of water. then I go do some skipping to mix it all up in my belly.

sometimes i contemplate sniffing lines of it up my nose.

Since I’m low carbing it right now I haven’t had any in 20 days. But I’ve got a fresh bucket of raspberry just waiting for me when the time comes to cycle it back in. I smelled the raspberry flav my buddy had at the gym, I drooled, for real, accidentally. My mouth just flooded with spit. I’m a pavlovian dog for that shit. When I don’t have it after training my mind just sits there with an image of the surge in a shaker until i get some. This presented problems when starting my cutting period.

Angel food caaaaaaaaaakkkkkeee…

Blend it with some ice to make a slurpee, It’s fresher than a cold blond beer on a hot day.

Or just use isolate with some gatorade or juice. I hear choclate milk would work too, but id shit my pants doing that.
