It’s like a sponge cake with a distinct shape and flavor. Given you list your weight in lbs, it’s odd you don’t know what it is. Where are you from?
Ok so, since I just dont like the taste (I’m fine with the sweetness) to make it taste better I can:
- Put less water per serving of Surge.
- Use colder water or Ice
- Just pound it back?
- Buy the Raspberry Flavour
Ill try 1 and 2, but im not nearly manly enough for 3, and not nearly feminine enough for 4 ![]()
Thanks for the help,
Contach
Use REALLY COLD WATER and STIR well don’t shake. If you do shake it up wait for the foam to decrease.

Id say the opposite of #1 more water and ice cold. I mix it in 32oz of water.
But also like the flavor its damn near too sweet.

I was the same way. The one thing that I did that made a bit of difference was cut down on the amount of water you mix it with. If it’s 16 oz, try 14, if you dont like that try 13 and so on, but i wouldnt go part 12. Not sure if you’ve tried that, but that might help. I also just forced myself ot drink it and eventually I got to loving it.[/quote]
This isn’t a bad idea, but make sure you drink an extra glass of water or something too after you mix your Surge.

Yea that is wierd. I thought everyone knew angel food cake. It’s basically the same as the stuff used in strawberry short cake. Not that good really.

Angel food cake is hot shit if its made right. Shit I even figured out how to make a wicked post workout high protein angel food cake. You just need to eat GOOD angel food cake mi amigo. I will have to go find my protein cake recipies when I am done writing my paper.
Not that good… my ass… no offense. I mean I’ve heard of people who don’t like pizza. And this is all coming from a guy who eats a kilo of brussel sprouts in two days, every two days. But wait till you try some legit cake.
Put some crystal light in the damn Surge if you like the sweet but not the taste.

Please do, I want some good high protein dessert recipes.
bump
peanutbutter!
Couldn’t you mix the appropriate amount with mixed up Crystal light for flavoring?
Walmart has some off Name Brand of Crystal light named Great Value, and it offers a better variety of flavors than Crystal Light. I bet the fruit punch might be pretty good mixed with Surge. Grape? Orange?
Persoanlly, I do not care for the Raspberry flavor Surge. Original was too sweet at first, but I diluted it a bit and loved it after my first tub.
I thought I was the only one. I almost threw up when I tasted for the first time today. But the more I drank the better it got. Adding some ice really helped. I bought some Raspberry Surge too, I’ll give it a try tomm.
Hold your nose. It’ll just taste like sugar.

Once you go raspberry, you won’t go back to the original flavor. The original is ok, but the raz is out of this world! It’ll be hard for Biotest to top that flavor.
try adding coffee or possibly baker’s chocolate if you don’t like the sweetness. The bitterness of coffee of baker’s chocolate will mask the sweetness a bit. I haven’t liked the stuff so far but I’m hoping it will grow on me like everybody seems to say.
I like to shake it up a few hours ahead of time and store it in the fridge. It settles nicely.
And yeah, the first two weeks or so you might not like the taste. But now I love it. Original Flavor is better, btw.
I agree with what’s already been posted. I initially disliked Surge as well, but after making sure to have around 20-24oz of water and lots of ice, it tastes pretty good. The key is keeping it COLD with ice. Once it warms up it’s no good.

I gladly went back!
The Raspberry smells great - like cotton candy. But it has a “cherry cough medicine” taste to it and is way too sweet for me.
Even when I tried mixing the Raspberry with the original flavor, it was still too strong and sweet. I was happy when the Raspberry Surge was finally gone!
The original “original flavor” was definitely the best. It was very close to angel food cake in taste. The new “original flavor” is still good, but I can taste the difference.
As mentioned before, the amount of water you use and the coldness can greatly affect the taste of Surge. The colder the better. But I prefer using the minimum recommendation for water (16 oz water for 3 scoops of original flavor) because I like the taste.
