Surge PWO...Then What?

I just got my shipment of Surge and couldn’t be happier. I used it for awhile in the summer and it was the only was it got me through my 4 a day workouts right before last season. I understand to take 1/2 the Surge during and 1/2 directly after working out, but what else? After the Surge, what are some good ideas for a PWO meal that will optimize gains?

One cup old fashioned rolled oats, half a cup of blueberries, and two scoops of vanilla Low Carb Grow!. Of course cook the oats and mix the Grow! with water then mix all together. This is probably one of my favorite meals. A boneless skinless chicken breast and two sweet potatoes is nice too, but I favor the oats and Grow!. mmm…

I tend to have a big meal following training. Usually a boat load of veggies and fruit. Some types of lean meat/protein. Some more carbs either bread, rice sweet tatoes, ect. and a scoop of Low Carb Grow!. I figure pile it on while I need it.

I just limit the fat, keep it as close to nil as possible.

Just my take,
Phill

Actually, it might be better to have fast-digesting carbs, such as fruit, potatoes, gatorade, etc. And some fast-digesting whey protein along with that is also a good idea.

In his audio interview, Chad Waterbury recommends 70g of protein and 150g of carbs an hour after your PWO shake. His example included gatorade, bananas, raisins, whey protein and Grow!.

I usually eat raisins, dried prunes, a bagel, protein powder and milk. Take as long as you want to eat the meal (30-60 minutes is fine, although if you can finish it in 10 minutes, that’s fine as well).

Well lately, my post workout shake has been followed about an hour later by a pound of steak(some kind of moderately fatty cut like top blade steaks or lamb arm chops), and some veggies and fruit. On an average day I’ll have some porridge and protein powder about 2 hours after that. If its a cheat day(usually Sundays), I’ll toss in a large pizza or two instead of the porridge and protein powder.

Today I’m going to having some organic, stone ground(less processed and more fiberful) tortilla chips with the steak and veggies. I’m not sure yet whether I’ll order a pizza or not.

In BigDirk’s post he asked what should follow his Surge post workout. This is what I normally eat as my first solid meal postworkout. I usually drink one serving of Surge during and 30 minutes after my workout. then 45 minutes to an hour later I have my first solid meal which is usually a starchy carb (oatmeal or sweet potatoes) and Low-Carb Grow! or another source of lean protein. Bagels are great by the way. Sara Lee Cinnamon Raisin bagels have about 50 grams of carbs and about 360 kcals a piece. Two of those along with some oats and Grow! is one hell of a solid meal option after some Surge.
Moon Night, did you say you eat steak and pizza PWO? I would limit my fat intake for my first solid meal PWO.
But what do I know? I am just a meathead Powerlifter.lol

30 minutes after the liquid meal (Surge), I like egg whites and white rice, 60 minutes after that - 2 scoops grow, then dinner 60 minutes later (chicken/beef, brown rice, green veggies)

Well the pizza is only because I’m bulking, and its my cheat meal of the week. Otherwise, steak, then porridge a bit later.

still, steak seems a bit heavy on the fat intake pwo, (as you want to avoid fats and fiber i beleive it is). Maybe some chicken etc…?
