Oh no doubt from me on deserving. We’re having a national debate for months over should we listen to doctors during a pandemic aren’t we? In a country with more deaths than the rest we’re really struggling with easy wide open layups.
The public doesn’t know what the political system is. Perhaps that’s why the elected someone who didn’t know either. But damned if it didn’t sound good. I don’t think Trump has really listened in his life. He was just the first one to completely figure out that people don’t care how you might achieve something if you can just repeat over and over that it will happen. As much shit as I may give him he’s brilliant in some ways. When people ask you how just move on to the next thing or say believe me.
I’ve tried this with a 600 pound bench press. Just saying no one knows bench like me I’m the strongest person who ever lived. No luck yet but not sure I have insisted enough.
Haha I’m an engineer by trade. The first time I was dragged into a sales call the guy spits about 5 metaphors and then speaks garbage before outright lying. We may as well have been talking about landing on the moon.
I didn’t even interject as it seemed like a Trainwreck but they signed a deal pretty fast.
All this seems to be a big distraction from the developments from the last few days.
The real issue is not whether Biden is implicated and the media role in it but that Trump has a dance and Biden does not, I’ll be interested to see how this plays out over the next few days.
Serious question. Does anyone really think there’s an undecided voter out there who finds this Hunter stuff disqualifying for Joe Biden but doesn’t find impeachment and the indictments/convictions of multiple close associates disqualifying for Trump?
The indictments of Trump associates had nothing to do with Trump though (in terms of committing a crime). If memory serves Manafort was indicted by Mueller for things he did before the Trump campaign. Still looks bad for Trump, sure, but that’s a far cry from the Vice President of the United States being part of pay to play or whatever you want to call it with his son’s business dealings, don’t you think?
I guess I’m interested in your thoughts on that question. IF it turns out that all that Hunter stuff is true, and it’s starting to look like it is, will you change your opinion? Or your vote? I know you won’t vote for Trump, but will you still vote for Biden? And doesn’t it bother you even a little that corruption at that level could be going on at the highest levels of government?
So the question is, is it illegal for the Saudis or whoever to stay in a Trump hotel? Did they stay in Trump hotels before he was president? They did. Was he supposed to sell off everything he owns when he took office? If he did anything illegal then why isn’t there an investigation? Surely you don’t think the democrats would pass up that opportunity if there was anything there do you? After all they were willing to make up reasons to investigate him, a real reason would be a gift from heaven.
We don’t really have anything to compare to since to my knowledge he’s the first established business man to hold that office isn’t he?
And again, what evidence is there that he’s selling us out as a country for profit? The article you posted talked about all these secret meetings but didn’t give any proof.
I could see if the Saudis just started staying at his hotels, but he’s said even before he was elected that they frequented his hotels.
And unless you believe Eric Trump truly is calling the shots at the Trump Org. while his father focuses solely as a statesman serving the entire taxpaying public… well, at least that would be in-line with precedent.
In fairness, it’s not exactly as cut-and-dry in this case (given the Trump name/brand being so fundamental to the overall biz/holdings) as it was with previous magnates-turned-POTUS… but do watch and see how history books record this era (of golf cart rentals and that floated idea of a G7 summit at Mar-a-Lago, etc)
This is a lot of apologizing and it’s not his fault. I’m not sure what to show you. If you don’t think this stuff is an issue or corruption then I don’t think we have anything to discuss. Something tells me you would be dismissive of anything shared. You had no problem racing to the NY Post is right despite an insane amount of red flags but Trump profiting off the office is staring you in the face and you’re having trouble accepting it?
Also did you read the article? Or did you read the Saudi part and then stop?
Of course I do. We had the first black(ish) President, and the first female candidate. We’re so much better than you that we’re willing to give you a head start.
That didn’t happen. Stop listening to Putin.
He won as a Republican, and we’re way batter. Nuff said.
Michael Cohen broke tax and campaign finance laws by passing checks from Trump to a porn star. Trump’s name was literally on the checks. Do you really think this had nothing to do with Trump?
Here’s what we know is true:
Johnson and Grassley’s report makes no mention of a meeting between Joe Biden and Burisma execs. Further, the report doesn’t say Hunter’s involvement had any influence on American policy (to include perusing the ouster of the Ukrainian AG). The only mention of Joe Biden is that he addressed Ukrainian lawmakers the same day a Hunter associated received money from some guy from Kazakhstan.
No one has been able to independently verify the authenticity of the emails.
Apparently, basic metadata (timestamps, etc.) is missing from these emails.
Grassely believes the FBI had the data from Hunter’s laptop since December of last year. If anything in that data pointed to wrongdoing, why then did Barr and Wray not investigate?
Even if Trump did meet with a Burisma exec, it would still be a massive leap to say this meeting influenced American policy.
So, you’re asking me to weigh the bullet points above against Trump’s impeachment for extorting a foreign leader and obstructing justice. Yeah, I’m going to have to say Trump is more corrupt.
Are we really going to pretend Trump’s main motivation for opening the country back up isn’t to drive business to his flagging hotels and restaurants?
I can’t imagine so. If they were turned off by this unsavoriness of the behavior (assuming it’s true), they’ve likely already been turned off to the most corrupt administration in history (yep, worse than Harding and Nixon). Hard to think they’d be bothered by this but haven’t been so much with Trump and this made them no longer be “undecided”.
Team Trump needed something as an October surprise to try and shake things up. If this is the best they got, I don’t see it changing anything.
I’m not interested in Trump’s view, personally. Trump is himself corrupt and conspiracy prone. Or, he at least sees an audience/customer/voter in the conspiracy prone and so plays some hot and heavy footsie with them.
Also, it’s worth noting how quickly both Breitbart and the Post pivoted to China-related business dealings away from Burisma and Ukraine and the “lost laptop”.
I assume they realized that Rudy’s amateur hour in Ukraine wouldn’t hold up long under scrutiny so they focused on an “unrelated” source for these new claims - supposedly Hunter’s ex business partner.
