lol @ ‘omg if u get caught with adderal’

if you are too stupid to keep them/use them in a safe location within the privacy of your own house and keep it to yourself, you deserve to get caught

So catabolic.

Also I don’t think you can get caught with adderall.

Waste of time and muscle tissue.

Im surprised a pre med student doesnt understand the catabolizing effects of amphetemines.
Pre-Med students aren’t gods lol. More than anything they are hard workers. What you know largely depends on what degree you’re using to get into medical school. I myself am a biology major. I took all my molecular classes (where they could have possibly talked about amphetemines) two years ago and I’m definitely rusty in that area now. My classes lately have been in the area of biogeography/ natural selection… larger scale biology topics.
I meant it more from the point of view that a pre med student clearly has a scientific mind. Couple that with an interest in weightlifting to whatever degree (why he’s here) and it made sense to me that a pre med student would naturally stumble across the info. I didnt mean it in the sense that a pre-med student would learn that specific tid bit of info in undergrad.
Eh you would be right if you were talking about training routines. I’ve never been a big supplement taker. Protein powder and occasionally creatine are all I really use. I prefer to just eat big and get big.

Plus, med school isn’t that hard to get into. Just take some study breaks, or go for a walk around campus.

I think low carbs combined with studying aren’t helpful
If you were talking about grad school I would agree with you. Grad school is easy to get into harder to finish. Med school is not the hardest thing in the world to get into but it’s definitely difficult. You want at least a 3.9 GPA along with loads of extracurricular work and a top notch MCAT score. I have everything so far accept for the MCAT score. I know some incredibly bright people who have failed to get in and other people who have tried for several years before they made it.

God, dude, that is so weak. Some of my best buds got into top med schools (Vandy, UNC, etc) whilst partying their asses off a la HolyMac’s recommendation.

And seriously, if you think that the admissions process is bad enough for you to need adderall and such, then I would be worried about the longevity of your plans on being a doctor. Same friends who spent their ugrad days living it up are now burned out to shit from interning.

Bright people who fail to get in suck at standardized tests. Stimulants aren’t going to help these people.

The only post I laughed at harder than this is the one where someone raised the concern over getting caught with Adderall as a legitimate point.

x2… How come no matter what topic you post there is always some asshole who says that what you’re trying to accomplish isn’t even hard?

“Smolov… that shit is easy.”
“Getting to 6% bodyfat, that’s nothing.”
“Med school… that’s a walk in the park.”

What’s next…
“Dude you wanna be an astronaut? That’s fucking easy I did that shit while fucking 6 different bitches and doing a kegstand at the same time!”

Give me a break. I wish I was as outstandingly awesome as your friends are but I, like 98% of those who are trying to get into med school, have to study my ass off to make it happen. Thank you for your absolutely meaningless contribution to this thread.

Not all premeds have a scientific mind. You can be a complete idiot that prefers to memorize rather than conceptualize and still do well GPA wise if you work hard enough even though you would be making everything much harder on yourself.

The fact that you are into weightlifting should have given you an advantage over many of the other students in many of the subjects due to personal interest in subject material. It is somewhat surprising as has been said that out of personal interest you have not dug a bit deeper and came to conclusion that amphetamines=catecholamines=catabolism during ochem amine chapter or more obviously during human physiology nervous system/neurotransmitter section or during just non-school related research such as if you were thinking about taking a PWO with DMAA in it and you wanted to know how it works.

The MCAT does not test your ability to memorize beyond the basic biological/chemistry facts/physics-chem equations and functional groups. It is more so testing your understanding of those concepts/critical thinking abilities. Start drawing ideas out into pictures/flow charts and knowing them well enough that you can teach them to your little sister. A good way to study would be to go through your books and make sure that you can look at the pictures and know what is going on.

Best way to really learn (not just cram for a test or get a paper done due to poor time management) is repeated exposure; studying every day; taking in bits of information and completely mastering them;with something like MCAT preparation unless you had two weeks to prepare amphetamines can be counterproductive if you think about it. All it will do is keep you up, hurt your sleep, hurt your eating and make you dumber. Your brain can only retain so much information keeping it stimulated for extended periods during marathon study sessions is not going to help you.

Thanks for your post!

I should put it to rest that I only took Adderall before one workout just to test it out. It seems people got the impression this is something I do on a regular basis. You can bet your ass if it was something I did all the time I would have a better understanding of it. But it was just one time.

Surprisingly, physiology classes are not always required to get into medical school. They are heavier on the chemistry.

I did take human physiology as a freshman 4 years ago out of personal interest and I took Ochem 2 years ago. I HATED organic chemistry. It was without a doubt my least favorite class I have ever taken. I have no personal interest in that area whatsoever lol and haven’t retained anything I learned.

Yes, other people who have taken the test have told me the same thing. It tests critical thinking more than anything. Right now I’m strictly memorizing info ( I got a massive flashcard box from one of my professors ‘MCAT in a box’) and when I’m done I’m going to go back through and gain a more conceptual understanding. Not sure if this is the best approach but it’s the one I’m currently taking.

For real. HM has some of the best natural potential on this site IMO. I certainly wouldn’t cast judgment on his lifestyle, but from what i gather it could be a little more conducive to the BB lifestyle - if that was his choice.

lol. thank you, but please don’t encourage him.

I take a generic adderall. While it may be a small dose for my size I haven’t had any problem getting stronger.

You also don’t know if you would have got even stronger and looked even better, had you NOT taken it. However, the science says you should have.

I’ve been studying studying hours and hours a day for my MCATS (test you take to get into medical school) and will continue to do so until I take the test in about 3 months. I was wondering if there was anything I could take to help boost my cognitive ability.

Right now I take caffeine or chew on nicotine gum when I’m feeling burnt out and that gives me a little extra boost but other than that nothing.
Take Gingko Biloba pills…
