Supplements for Dogs

I did a search on it, but come up blank does anybody knows if T.C. has a recommendation on supplements for dogs?

I think he wrote that he feeds his dog some fish-oil, which would make sense to me.

Other than that I have no idea,

Flameout

Flameout and Rez-V if I remember right

I give them Flameout, Superfood, and REZ-V (for the male).

As far as dosages, I give my 40-pound male 3-4 flameout, 2 scoops of Superfood, and 1 REZ-V per day. The female gets the same, except that I don’t give her any REZ-V.

I also give them each a half-scoop of Low-Carb Metabolic Drive at night, mixed with yogurt and a ground flaxseed supplement (Missing Link).

Thank you

at times I only give my 140 lb great dane 1 Flameout :frowning: I need to get her back on it, but no way I can afford to give her 3-4/day and not let my own supplementation suffer :frowning:

TC- how do you give them Superfood? I would just put it in the water, but don’t want to waste it.

mixing it with yogurt would help I guess, but any other ideas?

My boy just gets the left overs that I throw out.

Ex;
-Sardine oil out of can

  • fruit/veg pulp from juicer.
-Leaves from spinach/chard that fell on ground
    -Some hard parts of pineapple.

Is Rez-V not good for females?

My Great Dane likes a good Toy Poodle every now and then

I would also think about a glucosamine/chondroitin/msm supp, we use to give our golden the supp as she got older and it really helped her get around.

Most dogs will get all they need from a holistic dog food like Solid Gold, Canidae, or Wellness. From there you can still add extra supplements for joint and skin problems.

Be careful giving any supplements to dogs; nothing sucks like giving a dog a big pill and spending the next three days cleaning up diarrhea because the dog is allergic to shellfish or gelatin.

I just take it with a field of cows.

After it eats a few I get it back in the car.

Male shitzu!

HAHAHA!!!

Biljac.

My mastiff mix is on Evo’s red meat formula. It’s very high-protein and occasionally he feels the need to supplement with a paperback book, I assume for the extra fiber. He then will have for the next few days what we call “smart poop.” He’s very discerning and prefers the British classics.

Seriously, though this is true. Also, different breeds have some vastly differing dietary needs, so if you research what the dietary history of your breed is, and find a premium food that conforms to their needed macros, you should be good. Large breeds need more protein and will be less tolerant to certain carb sources.

We also supplement with fish oil.

I feed mostly raw meaty bones, every now and then some organ meats (frozen for 14 days first), cod liver oil, and dried kelp powder. Raw eggs too, inc the shell.

I started them this way, google it if you want to switch a dog over from processed foods because it’s not a transition you should make immediately.

I make a gravy with a little water and add it to their food. They seem to like it very much.

That could be true, but those foods tend to have a lot of grain in them (presumably as filler), and it’s just not something they need.

Of course, not a lot of people are willing to make their own dog food like me, so the foods you mentioned are unquestionably the next best thing.

It’s not that. REZ-V is absolutely good for females (blood vessel health, possibly longevity, etc.), but the I give the male REZ-V for its “anti-estrogen” effects.

My dog isn’t neutered, and it’s my belief that estrogen plays a big part in prostate cancer; especially in dogs, as research has shown that their prostates are ten times more sensitive to estrogen than a human male’s.

At some point, I’ll start giving my female dog some REZ-V for longevity, but not right now.
