I’ve been on zoloft, and switched to Wellbutrin. Spike or any other stimulant did NOT go well with the former, but seem to be fine with the latter.
I have found Biotest’s Rhodiola rosea to be massively helpful in conjunction with wellbutrin. [/quote]
Interesting, I was on Welbutrin for a while myself, I didnt do well at all on it. I can see how stimulants dont go well on welbutrin.
Bumping this old thread to ask a question:
I take St. John’s Wort regularly. Its an herbal anti-depressant and I’m not sure how it works exactly. Could This react badly w/ Spike? The warning label says to not take w/ anti-depressants…
Thanks for any help.
I wouldnt mess around from what I have heard and read St Johns Wort and any caffenated products can cause adverse reactions. I am not sure what stimulants if any Spike has, but I have also heard that saint johns wort is actually very similar to the antidepressant paxil, so if they are similar then I wouldnt chance it. Again I cannot substantiate these claims, but a mental health professional has stated this to me.
good luck
Damn. That wasn’t what I wanted to hear but thanks for the info.
i cant help you much but ill add that i have heard you shouldnt take ginkgo…
(and why would you anyway?-- b/c some say it helps w/ cortisol.)
so anyway, dont take gingko.
I’ve been on amytriptiline over a year now and haven’t had any issues with the products in the T-store. I’ve tried them all, I’m also a die hard Spike fan.
Thanks for the info. I think I might try it but just be extremely careful at first.
You should be fine with Spike, but you’ll want to stay away from Z-12 as the 5-HTP increases serotonin which, when taken in conjunction with antidepressants, can lead to serotonin syndrome. You’ll also want to stay away from L-tryptophan and St. John’s wort.
