I have a few questions as far as gaining some good mass and what supplements to take. I’ve never really taken any supps before except once when I took Mass Tabs and gained about 7 pounds. My metabolism is fast as hell and it’s hard to put on any real size. I’m only 5’8,147 lbs, and I’m 27 with no signs of slowing down, but cut up real well. That’s great, but I would really like to add some serious size (at least 15/20 lbs). What would be a good supplement to take?
I couldn’t really find anything on IsoMass so I don’t know how good that would be. Plus I see that IDs has Bulk Tabs out now that are similar to Mass Tabs. What would be a good supplement for a guy like me to put on size?
I hit the gym 3 to 4 weeks and and eat like a monster (eggs, tuna, bread, pastas, anything and everything). I change my work out every fews months ( Heavy weight many sets, or moderate weight 3 to 4 sets). So I'm basically askin for some help. What would be a good supplement to put on size, and what's a good workout routine (heavy weight many sets, or the other?) to add size? Thanks for helping the newb, sorry for the hassle since I'm sure this happens a lot.
Supplements you need: Beef, Chicken, Salmon, Tuna, Eggs, Vegetables, Fruit, More Green Vegetables, Penut Butter, Rice, Oats.
Otherwise some sort of protein shake makes life easy after a workout. This site sells Surge or some such thing which is a PWO shake. Otherwise any protein shake will be almost as good.
You are simply mistaken when you say you eat like a monster. You do not.
Getting a little tired of preaching the obvious.
You need AT LEAST 1g protein per pound of body weight.
You need about 1/3 of your calories (even more sometimes) from fats.
What’s left is carbs. Cutting? Less carbs. Bulking? More carbs.
To put on mass you need more calories. Thats complex scientific theory of sports nutrition in a nut shell.
Supplements only work when you already have the basics of nutrition and diet working for you. Get your diet better before supplementing.
Spry hit the nail on the head. So many people don’t realize that they aren’t eating enough, and claim to be hard gainers. Try fitday.com - log everything you eat for a few days, and you may be shocked as to just how little you are eating.
The best supps are indeed good clean food, and lots of it. If you aren’t gaining, bump up your daily cals by 250-300, then weigh yourself at the end of the week. Not gaining? Bump up a little more and weigh yourself. Gained 1-2 lbs? Good job, you succeeded; now keep the cals the same until you stop gaining. If you gain more than 2lbs a week, you are probably gaining too much fat, so drop cals slightly.
As for actual supps to increase size, creatine and whey protein. Time tested, mother approved =) (Well, not really).
