Supershake Subsitutions

Hey so just a quick question about supershakes/meal replacements…

Usually I like to drink 2/day - one in the morning and one before bed. I like to use a Micellar Casein+Milk Protein Isolate+Whey Isolate custom mix.

The morning shake is normally: 1/3c rolled oats + some frozen fruit + milled flax seeds + water+ice+1 75cc scoop of the above mix.

Nighttime shakes are normally: 1/2c cottage cheese (2%)+ 1 tbsp (less usually) natural peanut butter + milled flax seeds + water + ice + 1 75cc scoop.

So question being, if I want to save myself some money and miss an order of the custom slow digesting casein in favor of using more cottage cheese + just whey isolate would that be a reasonable adjustment to still get the same slow digesting slow releasing flux of aminoacids? Or should I just crunch some numbers and find a way to order casein?

Thanks, hopefully that was coherent.

If you do the math you will not be much ahead with respect to casein. Micellar casein is around $11 per pound. It is about 90% protein by weight, so you get 400g of protein per pound. That is 20 20g servings. Which mean you would have to be able to score 20g of protein from cottage cheese for less than $0.75 (I bumped the estimate from $0.55 to include shipping and flavor/sweetner).

That is not going to be a significant price savings, if any.
