Superman...Metropolis-Sexual?

I think George Eads, Nick from CSI, has the perfect look for Superman. His face looks a lot like Alex Ross’ Superman. He just needs the muscle.
The biggest problem though is he’s only 5’10" but that shouldn’t be too hard to work around with camera angles and special effects.
If he could “just” make a Christian Bale type bulk up…

So, as the only person who has SEEN the movie:

Everyone bitching about Brandon Routh must stop that.

He did an incredible job.

So did everyone, but credit should go mostly to Bryan Singer.

This is the best superhero film I’ve ever seen.

If superman is so naturally strong on Earth, how the heck did he get big muscles? (Iso-tension?). He’d only need to use like 1% of his muscle to do the normal daily things that us humans do.

Because Kyptonians just have it like that. Along with that, he was a “normal human” until he became a teenager. That means tons of farm work growing up.

Supergirl should look like a fitness model without ever getting off the couch.

When he was a baby didnt he pick up the car when his “dad” was working on it?[/quote]

True. but the comics later changed his history. It has been changed again with the New Crisis that just occured. This is how they explain Clark coming to Earth 60 years ago but now growing up in the late 70’s. Confusing? Go to a comic book store at least once. They have really done some major changes to some of these histories or created entirely new alternate universes.

I will truly take your word on that. I will also state the same if I see it and think he did well.

Also, Harris, if you spoil the movie before I see it, I will destroy you…several times.

For every sprinkle I find… I shall kill you.

“As far as casting, the X-men movies did an incredible job with Professor X and even Wolverine (even though he was greatly lacking in muscularity as well, he made up for it in acting ability).”

You really think so? Have you seen the third movie?..I thought he’d gain a few pounds. He seemed pretty big to me…I mean, in a beer belly/chuck norris kind of way, but none the less, that would be how I figured wolverine to look.

This thread was started over a year ago. Check the dates. He gained weight for the third movie as Wolverine and yes, he lookled better in the role because of it.

I’ve read two spoiler free reviews so far, one on supermanhomepage.com and another in my local paper and both said that it was better than they could have imagined. They also said that we won’t be disappointed in Brandon Routh.

It’s good to see that you seem to share the same opinion. I was going to try to get tickets for tonight on IMAX, but it is already sold out. Maybe tomorrow.

Am I the only one that hates Toby Mcguire? He’s like 102 pounds and is trying to play a superhero who can hurl cars at bad guys and propel jimself through the air like a champion gymnast.

I hate Toby Mcguire, and even worse, can’t think of anyone else better to play Spiderman.

And the movies were lame.[/quote]

I agree…while toby’s body was ok, I mean, while the charactor was an average highschool student, and not one on the football or wrestling team, and he is a pretty good actor, I have to admit I was surprised to hear Toby was going to play the part.

Eh, his frame is too small. It’s not just the height, his shoulders are kinda narrow; his whole build just makes him look small.

Remember that the guy probably barely works out. Some quality mass could do wonders.

Physique wise I agree that he is not the best choice, but his face and his acting would fit in my opinion.

And yet, he’d still be a naked man covered in silver flying around on a board which is also made of silver.

Ghost Rider would punk Silver Surfer.

Sorry…but Surfer would kick Riders ASS. Cosmic power, dude.

Anybody else wondering where the f#$k Gambit is regarding the X-men movies?

And speaking of X-men…What the hell was the point of that bald kid in X3? I figured we was going to be Jean Grey’s foil…the “weapon” used to gain control of her, but instead he’s merely a focus of interest to provoke the point of the story. I mean, the ending was poetic, but I would’ve felt that the story would’ve made more sense had they combined yin and yang, instead of yin getting claws through the gut, and yang duping an articulate austrailian bodybuilder who gives himself a concussion.

No, that would be a low move.

To give away anything about a movie before someone has seen it just blows donkeys chunks and reflects badly upon your parents, astrological sign, and race.

I will tell you this…Lex Luthor is totally Keyser Soze. Saw it coming from the third reel.

Just saw it. I loved it. It was a little long. I would have trimmed a few parts. But still loved it.

Bas Rutten as Lex Luthor, bald, big and funny as hell. I bet he could pull it off

Superhero casting is difficult I would suppose. But the only characters where I reckon they’ve got it bang on (to fit the big screen at least) is:

Blade [Wesley Snipes] - Snipes just took the character and went with it. Not sure about Blade 3 but the first was spectacular.

Batman [Michael Keaton] - again, sound choice. Good voice and seemed to fit the suit well.

Batman Begins {Christian Bale] - a good choice from the start. Even darker than Bat 1 and he pulls it off.

Superman [Christopher Reeves] - I think this was a pretty good choice at the time. Also, he looked kinda big which sits better with my idea of Supes. He pulled the geekiness/seriousness off well too.

Punisher [Thomas Jane] - pulled that off well I thought. Definitely redeemed the franchise after the abomination of Dolph Lundgrens 1989 version.

Saw Superman last night, and while it was a slow starter it was an overall good movie. Brandon Routh played the part really well as both “Superman” and “Clark Kent” and the movie itself was well rounded with plenty of action, comedy, and Romance. Also as much I hate superman’s costume and thought it would look corny, it did not at all and actually seemed to work. My only gripe was the slow start and the ridiculousness of kent/superman hidden identity (but i have always disliked it).
