So Hollywood has done an impeccable job bastardizing once cherished super heroes and villains. Now I see so many non-super looking people wearing fake superhero shirts.
Gym: 2 days ago.
Guy wearing captain america shirt with no sleeves. However, this poor fucker was desperately in need of some super serum
Today while doing cardio on a hiking trail.
Guy with a 50 inch waist wearing a superman shirt. I’m not a Dr. or materials engineer, but I can say without a doubt that he was not made of steel.
Maybe it’s all a plan to blend into their surroundings while looking like ever other out of shape average Joe. Mission accomplished!!!

Out of shape or skinny as fuck people have been wearing comic book/super hero/etc merchandise since long before Hollywood took the reigns, they just maybe weren’t at your local gym.
What a stupid topic. Nerds and geeks have been into the comic book stuff way before it got popular by Hollywood. Why do you care what people wear? How does it affect your everyday life seeing a fat guy wearing a Superman shirt?

I don’t necessarily care what people wear, but when I see a toothpick of a man wearing a Captain America logo shirt or a dude with a huge gut sporting Superboy’s shirt, it just feels “off” in my brain. Kinda like seeing a really fat chick wearing those booty shorts that say “HOT” or something.

That’s a different way to come at it, but the chick wearing booty shorts kind of made me understood.
I kind of see it as someone who is wearing a sports jersey from a college/pro team. Even if they are really out of shape, I know they are just sporting something that makes them show that’s where their fandom is. lol. Like I don’t wear Superhero shit of heroes I don’t like, just like most won’t wear a jersey of a team/player I don’t support lol
If i had a dollar for every little ass kid wearing a superman shirt every time i go to my gym it would cover my gym membership and half my supplement budget for the month

My post was definitely meant to be humorous and still derisive. There is a certain irony to anyone wearing clothing that affiliates themselves with elite level athleticism and while not taking care of their own body.
the fat and unfit are so prevalent in society i dont even notice them anymore, let alone give a single fuck about what they cover themselves with, they just better be covered with something.

Actually what he said was irony. What you described isn’t technically irony. It would be irony if he went to the gym to improve himself, but ended up regressing. But what you said isn’t ironic.
