I was at the Froch fight in Nottingham. You American boys don’t know you’re born sometimes - we had to be in the arena before 11pm and had to hang around until 02.30 for the fight to start to accomodate the American TV audience (a necessary pain in the arse for the big broadcast dollars) - there was jack shit to watch as the undercard sucked the sweat of a dead man’s balls… so all people could do was hang around the concourse getting shitfaced (and start inevitable drunken brawls - especially as there were so many pikey football fans in the mixer).
I don’t agree that Dirrell was robbed (I had Froch ahead by 3 rounds) although I appreciate you get a totally different take on a fight seeing it on TV versus watching it live from the cheapseats. Apparantly the judges only scored 4 rounds the same…bottom line is that Dirrell didn’t do enough to take the title away.
Sad to hear about JT. I’m pretty sure Kessler is going to walk through everyone at this tournie, although I think Dirrell may cause an upset or two now the pressures off after a loss.
i dont think kessler is as good as everybody thinks. I feel he’ll do well but to say he’s gonna walk through this is a bit much!

Firstly, they both should of had a point deducted. I think that was home advantage… but…
There was maybe one round, maybe two in the fight max - all you people saying Dirrel was robbed are smoking crack - if he was robbed, why did he spend the entire fight running away and holding, when it was quite clear to see that he had fantastic hand speed, and beat Froch to the punch pretty much every time. If he was in hte kind of command you guys are talking about he would of come forward more, and landed more shots, rather than running. I agree it was a VERY close fight, and I wouldn’t of liked ot have had to call it either way… Definitely though, it was FAR from a clear decision, as it was on the scorecards. (which you are also complaining about.)

Dirrell has skills more than sufficient to beat Froch. But this is not an amateur fight. You can’t take the title away, solely based on being the more talented fighter and overlooking aggression and ring control.
I too had Dirrell winning, but I can see how the fight could be judged in Froch’s favor.
I knew Abraham was tough and I suspected he’ll keep his power in the SMW division, but I didn’t know that he’s that intelligent as a boxer. Great gameplan, great execution, and monstrous right cross for the finish. I feel pretty bad for Taylor, but he said it best - “It comes with the territory”.

coming forward can’t win a fight either, which is really all Froch did… when he wasn’t hitting after the bell and hitting behind the head. he would come forward and dirrel would beat him to the punch and slip punches. i see a lot of people saying “dirrel didn’t do enough to take the title”, but what did froch do to retain it?
