Anybody notice how many of the commercials in the first half were targeted towards men? Dove bodywash, docker’s pants, dodge charger, and shopping with your wife/girlfriend. Is there any message there?
OMG and BEER commercials??? WTF?
Reggie Bush has to be the most famous 2nd string Running Back. I saw him in at least 2 commercials.
what’s the message?

Yes, that the people paying millions of dollars to pitch their products are in fact, not fucking retarded.
Watch lifetime and count the kotex ads.
I couldn’t believe how lame most of the commercials were this year.

They only hire him because he’s Kim’s boyfriend…
I wish I were joking.

Seeing as outside the Great Depression, this is the worse economic climate ever recorded in this country, I can understand why companies, who aren’t making nearly the same money as 3 and 5 years ago, wouldn’t have spent all that much money on commercials this year.

If you’re already making a commercial to air at the most expensive time of the year, how much more does it cost to make it funny?
Even the Bud Light commercials were weaksauce. Worst commercials I have ever seen. I don’t think any one of them were outstanding.

How does this at all surprise you? The vast majority of people actually watching the Super Bowl are male, thus it makes complete sense to tailor the advertisements accordingly.

I would imagine the better ad firms cost more…

Doubly odd, then, that I found most of them to be a bit insulting to guys. For example, the message of the Dodge Charger R/T ad seemed to be: “Guys, you’re totally pussy-whipped at home, but at least you can still drive a manly car.” WTF? I would lower the toilet seat and throw my shorts in the laundry hamper out of respect - not because I’ve been subjugated. I certainly don’t NEED to drive a muscle car to compensate for a lack of manliness in other areas.
I hate ads 364 days a year, why would tonight be any different?
That said, e-trade is still king.

I think this is a good point. However, there has been a shift towards a more metro man, and maybe they are just trying to swing everything back to how it used to be.
“timmy what are you doing in there!” I hadnt laughed so hard in a long time at that line.
At least they brought a good half time show, The Who, glad it was a great classic rock band instead of Lil Wayne or something
