I’ll second this. I was fairly concerned about kidney function. I was still in range, but not great with the standard tests. The Cystatin C test was a lot better looking, and is more fitting for someone who lifts.
No, i injected 0.3ml at night and did tests next day mid-day… It’s the same time after the injection that i did when i did test for ED shots.
Same vial, same test. 250mg/ml… Taking 250mg a week.
ED injections 0.15ml… EOD injections 0.3ml…
Inject at night, gave blood next day around 12:00… both times.
Yea, i remember this or simmilar graph you posted before and thats why i started doing EOD shots as ED is just a pain in the ass. But todays bloodwork shows almost half the test i had when i did bloodwork on ED…
Ill stick to ED and do it again in 2 weeks to make sure its back up again.
U know, my bloodwork on test has always been sketchy but i always blamed the poor testing and the fact that i was SOOO over the norm. But now when i am much closer to normal ranges, i dont think that could be a problem. Now seeing these results i think - maybe i just need to pin everything ED to get the maximum out of it. Maybe i am a weird person. Maybe thats why i have always used so much and got so little out of it. Who knows.
There is also some logic behind this, as when im doing 250mg ED shots my test shows almost the same as it did 400mg of test…done E3D… Maybe my test on 400mg would be much higher had i pinned it ED also.
Everything @anon18050987 said with the exception that I think we are not talking about creatinine here and not about kidney function.
I want to add that my CK readings have been out of range ever since I started lifting at the age of 16.
CK is an enzyme mainly present in muscle tissue (heart or skeletal) and therefore shows up in the blood stream after muscle damage (similar to AST and ALAT from the liver). For regular folks a high reading could mean a myocardial infarction took place. For lifters it is usually just the damage from training to skeletal muscle.
Edit: apologies. Read again and saw that you first showed the points about CK. My fault. I was a bit perplexed as I though @mnben87 was wondering about his creatinine readings back then.
What about creatinine? Is that a good test? What does it mean if it is a bit elevated?
We are full circle ![]()
Look above.
Like that song
Yes but i ask specific for creatinine now…
I got super confused cuz at first i asked about Creatin Kinase. And only now i mentioned creatinine. But ok, so ck and creatinine are ok to be elevated.
Btw, isnt something similar sometimes with ast/alt? Cant those also be higher for people who train hard?
I have a feeling Ronnie is one of those guys that is a lot smarter than he seems. I think he graduated with close to a 4.0 in accounting at one point.
Is there something good for liver also, just like cystatin test for kidneys?
For those who dont follow my current training log, but were interested in how much tren has fucked me up using it for 500-1000mg a week for 2 years straight, i have updates on my health and all the checkups also in my training log :
If anyone ever wonders about kidney damage on tren.
I just did a scan on all my internal organs and there is no signs of any organ damage whatsoever.
Not saying that tren is safe. Im saying - do your checkups and shit might not be as dark as people make it.
Genetic marvels exist
You may be one of them.
Some people get emphysema after smoking for only 5 years… others can smoke upwards of a pack a day for their entire life and get away with only “mild respiratory distress”.
Funny you posted this now. I had blood work a few weeks ago from my TRT clinic, scared the shit out of me. My GFR was 69, 90s a year ago. I did a very mild run of tren A this blast. I don’t believe it’s just tren, I’ve tried multiple compounds over two years. I live off protein shakes, creatine, many other supplements that I don’t know the impact on the kidneys, but those have remained unchanged since prior to AAS. AAS as a whole has impacted my kidneys for certain. I’ve changed some supplementation since the last bloods. I’ve got a few years on you I believe but it adds up.
But have you actually looked at them kidneys?
My AST and ALT have been fucked for like 10 years but my liver shows no signs of damage or any abnormalies.
What im saying is - bloodwork is just bloodwork. We dont know how much of what does what because its probably individual.
I have super high hematocrit all the time but my bp is normal, my heart is all good, and i have no other problems other than the fact that the paper says its high.
I think bloodwork should be used when you have found a problem and correlate it with bloodwork not the other way around.
Your bloodwork might be good but your heart might be huge as shit, for example.
I believe doing a scan on the actual shit once a year is better than doing full panels every 2-3 months.
A scan is the next step, the blood values are a reason to get further work up. It doesn’t do any good to ignore the numbers, one reason or another they are far off normal values. Blood work is blood work but they compare to norms for a reason. Yes, alone they don’t tell a story, I agree but they are a cheaper test that could then justify more expensive diagnostics. It’d be great if I had a scan and there were no issues.
For guys with a lot of muscle, high protein diet, creatine supplementation, etc, or combo of factors, the traditional test isn’t the best for determining kidney function.
I would ask for a Cystatin C test. I don’t know all the details on why it is better for guys like us, but many experts seem to agree it is a better indicator. They can generate a GFR using Cystatin C.
I was a bit worried about my GFR (still in range with the traditional test, but I had dropped 10-15 points (80s to high 60s) or so over about a year), so I ordered a Cystatin C GFR, and the result was better. I do know that a few of the online blood work panels specifically for BBers use this test and not the traditional one.
Id say a scan is the first step. If your bloodwork is good and you dont do a scan you can still be fucked up and never know it. You think those bodybuilders who drop dead didnt do any bloodwork?
for jacked guys on test, those norms are not the norm… you have to take this into consideration.
