I tried twinlab but it makes me feel like I want to throw up after I take it especially if on an empty stomach. Are drug store brands OK?
Thanks,
Cruz.
Most vitamins will upset an empty stomach. I use Centrum. They are quality and you can buy big bottles for cheap at Costco.
The reason the centrums dont upset your stomach is that you are crapping them out whole in the same form they went in you. Yoyu are not getting anything that could upset your stomach. there have been several threads on this and multis in general. Even a few showing x-rays of centrums and other multi’s deep in the intestine and still whole.
Do a little search and you should turn up a plethora of the exact same threads you have just started where MANY peeps chiomed in.
Hope that helps,
Phill
Best recent discovery is ADAM multi by now.
You sound like one of the people who is sensitive to B vitamins (not very common). Start with…half a cap/tab IMMED AFTER FOOD and work up. 1/4 if that is still too much.
Oh and if you’re taking a multi with…>50 mg B vits…maybe that is more then your body…can tolerate.
As Phill has pointed out this has been discussed several times if you search it. Basically find a good whole food nutrient dense greens powder( or in vegetable capsules) and you’ve got the best multi there is. If it is in tablet form it is a POS regardless of the brand name. As afr as the b vitamin sensitivity–sounds like it to me. However what most people don’t realize is that synthetic b vitamins are synthesized off of a coal tar derivative(petrochemical sludge basically) so it doesn’t surprise me that some people are sensitive to them and it makes them nauseous. If you get a whole food source b you don’t get these problems

Never take a multi vitamin on an empty stomach! They (most) were meant to be taken with a meal. Go back and try the Twin Lab product with your meal, not before it but during it!
I just ordered some NOW Adam. It was pretty cheap($16 for 120 caps), but it says it includes ZMA? Like on the ingrediant list it says ZMA, but Zinc and Mag are also listed seperatly, and there is some calcium in it. What is up with that?

Sounds like the kitchen sink syndrome. I like a lot of the Now products. However, it makes you wonder why companies, not just Now but together vitamins that counter act absorption.

I use the Twin Lab product, and I’ve never had any problems with it.
As suggested, try again, next time with food. Its a very good product.

Wow, that’s great to know. I googled this subject and found a lot of info. “Bedpan Bullets” was my favorite. LOL
Any specific brands that anyone can recommend would be appreciated. Thanks.
No prob. just trying to help.
2 good things to look for in a multi are muliple dosings as opposed to a one a day.
That and one without a protective coating. The coating is sold to you as a way to slow absorption but in reality is usually added to extend shelf life allowinbg the company to make a huge batch and not wrry as much about the ingredients losing their effectiveness. Problem being this same coating does not get brke down and you pass a whole vitamin, of quality or sub par ingredients.
There are many out there. Just try and get a good one. Some are high price and well worth it, such as LEF, and other OK but less expensive. Go with what you can afford and try and get as many nutrients as you can through a solid diet.
Hope that helps,
Phill

Life Extension are very good and I use these. But I know a lot of people here like Twin Labs. LEF are expensive, but VERY high quality. I also take Greens+ with my Grow! shakes
This looks good. LEF, 2 a day, and $15.75 for two months supply
this stuff looks pretty decent…what do you think?
is this one any good?
