please man that is just dumb…anyone who knows boxing knows the fight was not nearly as close as they had it…the judges were so influenced by the crowd going crazy when oscar flurried with 10 punches and only 1 would land it made me sick.

if you watch the fight with the sound off and slow down several parts its a clinic by floyd bro hands down.oscar was landing that jab but floyd figured it out like he always does.

I did not think the fight was that close either. When I had watched it originally, I was only getting back into boxing and didn’t know that much about it, but even then I thought Floyd won the fight.

The crowd was visibly biased, and they did go wild when DLH was trying to hit Floyd’s body and all.

While I agree with this, why then didn’t Oscar start shooting a double jab?

Everyone knew Floyd would be watching for Oscar’s left hook. The only way to land that hook would have been to start moving in behind a double jab, which DLH did not do.

Floyd figured out how to counter a jab- WOW! That’s not that impressive. DLH is supposedly such a great fighter, he should have countered with something else.

And DLH just stopped cold throwing that jab- it wasn’t because of all the counters.

Agreed. Although I think you’re selling Margarito’s power short, I also know that Floyd is rarely caught by a flush shot from anyone, and that will nullify most of Margarito’s power.

Plus, as you said, he’s never been put down except for once in the Judah fight, and that was more a matter his balance being off when Judah landed a shot.

The problem with that fight, and the reason I made so much money off of drunk buffoons on it, was that it was clear from the first round that Cotto thought he would KO Margarito. He was outboxing him, yes, but he was also being drawn into trading with Margarito before he would step off. This led to Margarito’s power taking a severe toll on Cotto.

The only way for Cotto to win that would be to do exactly what Floyd would do- hit, step off to the side, 2-3-2, duck out and under.

He would do that all day. I don’t think he’s better conditioned than Margarito- but he’s conditioned enough that he wouldn’t tire by Round 12, and he wouldn’t be getting hit with shots like Cotto.

If this was a 15 round fight, or Floyd was 33, then I’d say Margarito.

Right now, Floyd all day.
