What are your thoughts on SC injections ? I read that dr John Chrysler was all in favor of them .

I really wanted to go SC since it’s so much more convenient for ED And eod

Also I have been sleeping a lot more than usual these days and feeling tired and sluggish could it be because of the TRT protocol and a change needed to it ?

@systemlord @highpull

Guys i have tried to load a syringe with 25mg of T from a 250mg/ml ampule
But after loading 1ml and pushing the plunger to get all the air out the level goes way past the 1ml mark… am I doing it correctly?

This is a 1ml syringe I’m using

I’m trying to get 25mg from 250mg/ml ampules so .1ml am i correct?

Because you’re using removable tip syringes that have a lot of wasted space

You want the needle, etc to be “full” and the plunger to still be at 0.1ml. You’ll probably actually draw more like 0.15ml in order for that to happen, the 0.05ml difference will be wasted

If the second pic is where you have to be before liquid begins coming out of the needle then you don’t have enough drawn into the syringe.

The needle is 26gauge .5inch

But at that point the it would be more than .1ml if we measure from .2 to the.3 mark for reference…what is correct?

Yes the second pic is where the T starts coming out

K that isn’t enough then.

Your reference is the needle, etc are full and the plunger is at 0.1… that’s it.

So you’re saying I should draw till .1ml till it comes out of needle and the extra .05ml will be wasted inside the needle so no worries about it being Extra dosage since it stays in needle?

That is correct

It’s easier to do with reusable vials than ampules but after a few times you should get a good idea how much to draw to get the amount you want.

There are techniques to reduce waste but I was trying to keep it as simple as possible for now

Ok great …Thanks a lot for the help !!

First, your numbers were pretty excellent. The way you were feeling could and probably did have a different source. Second, I don’t like sub-Q. Some guys do great with it, I like shallow IM or IM. If you are drawing from a vial, over draw by a lot, and push all of the extra air and everything right back into the vial without withdrawing the syringe. Everything involved should be sterile, so there is no reason to push anything out of the syringe except directly into the vial you draw from. That takes the guesswork out of it.

Guys I was wondering if I could fill the 1ml syringe I use completely ,and just change the needles after each injection using the same syringe?
I only get 250mg/ml 1ml ampules where I live so thought this way would be easier and much less wastage since currently I am discarding about .06ml per .1ml injection i do using it EOD.

I think you could, though, I’d honestly try to just get smaller syringes though with fixed tips and then draw out a weeks worth at a time (or however an ampule lasts).

1/2" insulin syringes have virtually no waste…

I can only get 250 mg/2 mL. I backfill 27 ga insulin needles with the 23 ga that comes with the amp here. You could just change tips, but it wouldn’t be cheaper and you’d still lose what’s inside the tip.

What if I pull back on the plunger after finished injecting to get back the leftover in the needle and than discard the needle …but I feel it cause sterility issues with the whole thing is that right ?

I read about the airlock method maybe that’s the best way to go ?
