Sucrose is just 2 glucose molecules bonded together, right? All the carbs we eat eventually get converted to glucose, right? So if I need extra carbs in my diet, couldn’t I just put sugar on everything? Or, since it seems that it would be absorbed pretty fast, what if I just ate a ton of sugar right before my workout? Any problems with this? It would be cheaper than carb powder. Your thoughts?
glucose+fructose=sucrose
Thank you, Goldberg. Is fructose important for bodybuilding?
Fructose cann’t be stored as muscle glycogen, only can be stored in liver or converted to fat. A little fructose isn’t going to hurt but it’s not a source of carbs to replace muscle glycogen.
