Subq vs IM Experiences?

You have to pinch your fat and then stab yourself in the pinched area. Seems uncomfortable.

Ok, I assumed you talk about the way you feel from the substance

SubQ always burned for me too. I dunno. Maybe it was the brand T I was using that didn’t agree with me. Never had any pain with shallow IM

@equel - just curious - did you switch from a long time on IM to sub-q and how long did you try sub-q for before getting blood work showing a decline in levels?

I read something interesting recently on the urological guidelines website for T replacement showing differences in sub-q an IM half-lives.

https://www.auanet.org/guidelines/testosterone-deficiency-guideline

“The half-life for IM testosterone was also shorter at 173 hours versus 240 hours for SQ testosterone.”

That’s 7 days vs 10 days…and since we need at least 5 half lives to reach a steady state, it reasons a person would need to be on sub-q for 2 weeks longer than IM before reaching it’s full potential.

Edit - I’ve been on sub-q exclusively for 2 years at 42mg EOD and my TT is 1192, FT is 231 and sensitive E2 is 41.

Doing some blood work today. We’ll see if they are the same.

That’s an interesting find. Likely due to less vascularity of the fat you’re injecting into. (I didn’t read the article)

I find no difference. Just prefer IM.

I’ve experienced no difference.

I’ve also experienced no difference between 100 mg once per week versus 50 mg twice a week.

Yes, that is correct.

@equel For how long did you try it?

Very interesting. I did 5.5 or 6 weeks before I gave up, I couldnt handle it, felt like hell. Maybe I should have stuck to it a little bit longer.

Oh, its enough to feel for many. A guy on excelmale has made a compilation of people who subQ just dont work for, he had like 40 different people who got 40-60% reduction of total T when doing subQ, many of them increased their e2 alot aswell.

Do you have a link or a topic name I can search for over there or something?

No pinching if you are fat enough.

I have been saying that SQ was kinda like using a longer ester vs IM being a shorter ester. Thanks for the post! Previously my claim was just based on anecdotal evidence, but now I have evidence.

Reduction in total T compared to what?

So sub-q lowered testosterone and raises estrogen in these people? Were their labs posted to prove this? It doesn’t make any sense.

Regardless, most people don’t give a protocol long enough to work. If you don’t feel better by week 6 on any new protocol then there’s a good chance you are someone that requires longer. I personally need 8 weeks to feel the positive effects after a protocol change. If you are constantly trying new protocols for 5-6 weeks and switching then stop and give it more time.

So far Im definitely leaning to sub-q hope not to be one of the few guys for which it really doesn’t work. On the other hand maybe it will be better that the testosterone will be a mix of propionate and longer esters

Compared to when they did IM - with the same dosage. Just as I experienced it.

And yes, labs were posted.

@equel
Post the link or thread title. Doesn’t sound right.
