After doing a ton of ‘google’ research and digging in to the best of my limited comprehension on our Thyroid Sticky, I see that my numbers, according to labs/doctors etc. puts me in the Mild Subclinical Hypothyroidism category.
Had my labs done thru LabCorp San Diego which used 0.45 -4.5 as ‘normal’. After a lot of research, I see that .3-3.0 is a much better range to use, especially seeing that I am only 40 and having a general distrust of the medical treatment establishment.
So from here I go on to read article after article(medical doctors) describing iodine as gasoline to the fire in my situation with a few alternative doctors calling gasoline to a car… Reading our sticky, it seems the consensus is iodine is the solution but I am just so damn confused at how there can be such a huge chasm in treatment/understanding between the 2 camps.
I’m not dissing anyone here as I have found the information here to be insightful and beneficial, just more or less questioning ‘why’ the solution might/would be iodine. Either way, I’m bummed at this test result but want to find the healthiest and most long term beneficial solution.
My symptoms that seem to align with this condition would be minor at this point but here they are; low energy, poor sleep pattern(fall asleep easy but wake up constantly) and slight depression. The TRT has helped quite a bit with the energy but I am still not where I think I should be.
I’m no expert by any means, but I have the symptoms of low idoine levels and started with 50mg of Lodoral on Saturday. Being only on day 2 I do feel some difference, but want to give it another couple days to field my report in my thread. However, I do feel a slight difference in having a clear mind (if that sounds right)and increased energy level (not in wanting to run a 5k, but more alert). My temps ran 96.5-97.4 to today 96.4 in morning to 98.4 mid-day. I’ll keep you informed as the week progresses.

Sounds good and thanks for the report/response. Sounds like an effective fix for you and hoping that is the answer for me too… I just want to find out a little more first. From what I read, wit my TSH number out of whack but my T3/T4 numbers solid I guess it’s just a matter of time before those numbers go out of whack too and I don’t want to wait too long… Also I want to know if my TSH is 4.62, with iodine supplemented into my system what is my timeline and what will that number go too; 4.0 or 3.2 etc… I just did my mid afternoon temp and registered 98.0, a little low but not too bad I guess.
