Stuffing My Face with Chicken

No idea, but the guy that wrote the recipe in his blog didn’t mention anything like that.

Shire - damn thats cheap! Over here (germany) goose eggs cost 2 Euros, sometimes more.

I think some of you just like showing off where you live. Someone from Iceland is going to log in next to give me a recommendation for Reindeer meat.

Actually I’m waiting for someone from Australia to recommend Ostrich eggs.

They have over 2000 calorins. Didn’t found any info about the protein content, but apparently they are 24 times as big as regular eggs. So that’d be about 145-170 proteins.

So one could just eat two a day and be good to go.

Hell, you could even carry one around with you. Just crack that bitch open and drink from it.

On a related note, I suck at cooking steak. When I’m near a grill it’s fine, but at home in a frying pan it’s just bad. I have’t tried broiling.

Yea food is so cheap here compared to the UK where i normally reside(Most British food sold in supermarkets is pretty poor and rather expensive).

German produce is pretty good though, At least you get quality food for your Euro’s!

I found a good soy sauce & dry seasoning that mix “wicked” together…that makes the chicken taste a ton better then dry + unseasoned.

Reindeer meat huh? Hmm…ho ho ho

In the past, the steaks I made never turned out good until I got a grill. Now their perfect after finally figuring exactly how long they need to cook to be just right.

Lately, I only use the frying pan for eggs.

I’ve been making potato frys with my pan on training days:

yum.

I found (about a month ago) a really good seasoning for chicken at a local resturant (the only one i get lunch at when my food isn’t defrosted in time) called U Food Grille. They have this “Kickin’ Thai Chicken” that is amazing. I get 4 pieces of chicken (10-12oz total looks like) about 1 cup of brown rice and their “air fries” for about $11. The thai seasoning is amazing. Today I got some extra for dinner tonight.

If you do not eat chicken, approximately how many meals per day consist of red meat?

While I’m bored to death of chicken it does seem to pack easier than red meat; plus you can eat it cold (which I find difficult to do with beef).

BTW: Do you ever eat tuna or salmon?

Right now, I eat 3 meals a day of steak (each about a pound, maybe a little less as I don’t weigh them). I drink about 3-4 protein shakes and about 8-10 whole eggs (that will be dropped to mostly egg whites later on). Aside from nearly a gallon of green tea a day and some potatoes cut like french fries only not fried, that’s pretty much it most of the week until my cheat day (at least that’s the plan).

I used to eat quite a bit of salmon (10 packs at Sam’s every week), but I have had a bad habit of dropping my calories too low when dieting in the past. Because of that, I am sticking with the red meat until I hit a wall. I hate tuna and people around me hate the smell of it so I usually don’t eat it.

Thanks for the info.

Another question - I understand you grill your meat on the weekends, but how do you travel with it? Do eat it cold or microwave it? In other words how to you make it palatable?

Lastly, what cut of beef do you buy?

Thanks again.

I vacuum seal it and take it to work with me frozen. By the time I eat it, it is thawed so I microwave it.

I buy what’s on sale usually which is usually rib eye, strip steak or even t-bones if I can find them for less than 8 bucks a pound.

Professor X, just a question why you dont use ground beef as a staple as its usually less than half the price…a little taco mix, some oil, and you’ve got a pretty good thing that (for myself anyways) i dont mind eating meal after meal, day after day, compared to chicken or something

I made the mistake of buying boneless skinless chicken last night. I knew there was a reason I don’t buy that stuff. Bought a pack at last night at Sam’s Club, cooked it, and now it’s 3PM and I have none left for dinner.

So in less than 10 hours, I’ve eaten 6lbs of (uncooked weight) chicken. I’m much better at controlling myself when faced with the disgusting white meat.
