It might be like the 1 litre Fosters cans I saw in the states in 2002. I’m still yet to see one in Australia![/quote]

That’s because nobody drinks Fosters here. Nobody should be drinking Fosters anywhere, really.

Since when is it illegal to buy porn anywhere? What state do you live in? Last time I was in Canberra I spent ages trying to find fireworks and failed dismally; I think they’re outlawed now. This basically means that Canberra has nothing going for it and one has absolutely no reason to live or visit there.

I don’t think we’re actually bigger than the USA. Also, you have to consider that about 80% of our land is uninhabitable(unless you love snakes and abos).

I haven’t seen that tuna, but would never buy something that exploited my country’s sacred colloquialisms in such a disgraceful manner. What should you buy? Some kangaroo steak, a slab of Toohey’s Old(>VB) and a DVD of the movie “Chopper”. Sounds like a top night.

I think you’re saying ‘porn and fireworks’ when you mean ‘sex’.

I had never heard of G’day Tuna until now. I hate the way G’day gets used to death in marketing.

We do have:
Inner Circle Rum.

Inner Circle Black is 75.9% (152 proof) and has a habit of nearly killing me.
Made in Fiji now but I still count it.

The crime rate isn’t low either. It’s stupidly high but because it’s lower than some other countries we ignore it.

BeeBuddy,

Have you ever tried Vegemite? (a bit obvious i guess) it is yummy ! I have not seen that brand of Tuna dwon here yet, i only eat greenseas tuna as it is normally on special for 99c a can !

Vegemite…I have never met an Aussie who didn’t like it or an American who did…thats my .02

If vegemite is the same as marmite then… yeuch!! it tastes horrible!

Victoria Beer! That’s about the only decent beer you aussie’s have. Foster’s? Gimme a break!

Fuckin’ lovely country though… and the women are hot!

BUT… If I ever flew that distance again, I’d definitely prefer to go to New Zealand.

Going back to what someone said about the beaches… Bondi beach isn’t nearly as good as it’s cracked up to be, IMHO.

The greatest thing to come out of Australia since Crocodile Dundee:

Victoria Bitter is fairly average run of the mill stuff (and cheap too). Try these ones instead:

  • Cascade Lager
  • Coopers (any variety)
  • Crown Lager (my personal favourite as a proud Victorian!)

You’re right in saying Bondi isn’t that good. Its nothing more than a tourist trap for British and European backpackers these days! The real beaches are along the Queensland coast. My favourites are the Sunshine Coast beaches (north of Brisbane).

What have OZ got to offer?

*Best beaches in the world

*Canberra-hate the place but where else is it legal to buy porn and fireworks.

*Great weather-lots of sunshine.hell 85% of my state is in drought,so u get heaps of great weather.

*Not many people-we are bigger that the united states but only have 18 million people. So alot of places are nice and quiet…if u like the quiet that is.

*Safe-we have gun laws so its a pretty non violent place to visit. Most people are nice and laid back and friendly .

Being South African, I’ve been brought up to have a “rival” mentality against the Aussies - in sport that is.

But I have to agree with the above points, OZ is like SA without the crime and better beaches. I’ll probably retire there.

tooheys is crap beer, its like someone filled the beer bottle halfway then got some skank from stkilda to fill it up with piss. victorian bitter is good although i wish they went the way of carlton draught and put questions under the caps

cascade - is pretty average, im not really a fan of tassie beer
coopers - green is the way to go…i remember polishing a slab off one day up at mt buller, good times
crown lager - its vb. sad day when they went to the twist tops

“that’s not a knife, this is a knife”

Am I alone here in not liking beer?
I work at a liquor shop and for a while I was buying a different beer each shift and I couldn’t find one that I enjoy. I tried Australian, American, Candadian (made me sick), European, even a Jamaican.

I can drink Boags: Premium, St George and Light but that’s about it. Does the only good beer come from Tasmania?

Although I love my Vegemite (good for you too), I can completely understand why non-Aussies hate it.

Kangaroo sausages are the best. Be careful though as not all are created equal. Found that out the hard way.

The movie “Wolf Creek”

Just found out, you yanks can’t get the one true food VEGEMITE anymore, coz it’s got folate in it, and your gov says it’s bad for you.

Re that tuna brand, never heard of it - I’ve just had a search and it’s produced just down the road, so to speak, (about 6hrs away) at Pt Lincoln

(follow link to brands)
So the tuna will be exceedingly fresh when processed. There are a lot of tuna farms down that way. Wild tuna are caught and penned and fattened up (much like a cattle feed lot, but under water), and then processed. You can even swim with the tuna in the pens

The tuna are worth a lot to the state’s economy, I think more millionairs live in Pt Lincoln (per capita) than any other city in Oz.

Other things Oz has got:
40% of the world’s known uranium
iron ore, lots of it
sun
really good beaches, and lots of fish to catch from said beaches.
pretty girls.

"*Canberra-hate the place but where else is it legal to buy porn and fireworks. "

Every shop in the UK

Marmite > Vegemite

I wanna see if you can get G-day tuna over here, it sounds good lol

Ive eaten alligator steak before, if you can call that Australian…

I’m not usually a fan of cricket, but…

Oh, and we’ve got beaches too!
