Im a tard. Didnt want it out on youtube so i had put private oh well I well edit those and then I uploaded them correctly. thanks Print. Im a virgin video poster.

^ Well I am sure a lot of the really strong fuckers on here will have very helpful comments. I hope. I have had a long road back to be able to do this. I am just glad I can lift heavy again. I wonder how much grief I will get for the new Avi.

Is that your rack? I’ve never seen a chrome one before, very nice.

Good effort on the front squats. You like your hooks set pretty high don’t you?

I didnt change them from the number I was doing back squat on. Now that you said that on the heavier weight it has made a difference, need to drop it a number. The racks 4 supports are chrome the rest is not, the “hooks” actually have a screw and spring that slides over the chrome supports. I had never seen one like this either, but it will support what I need.

Question, I know a side view would be benificial for a more accurate evaluation of form. Did you see anything on my form from this view?

So much to comment on here. First, I second the comment that you have a really sweet-looking rack there. I keep seeing the equipment the rest of you are working with and then go look at mine and expect the whole rack to just fold up on me one day.

Next snarky comment: can you still compete in a RAW federation with all those awesome tattoos???

And now something related to the actual question. That’s an impressive amount of weight, and at least from this angle the lift looked real good to me. One minor advantage of the back view is that you can see that your knees are not caving in at all. It also looked like the depth was good to me.

To start with I’m no expert and it’s pretty much impossible to call depth from the back due to camera angles etc, but if I had to guess I would say you were slightly above parallel. Your form in general seemed ok but I did spot a bit of “knee cave” on your left leg only (mainly on the last rep of 3). Could be a bit of a strength imbalance or might just be because you were “maxing out”. I’m sure there’s someone on here who could tell you the reason.

Impressive lifting nonetheless. Maybe a side view for next time.

^ I got the same impression of my left leg when I watched it also. When I first started back I had some serious imbalance last year and really worked on correcting it. From time to time it starts caving in on the hard lifts and I have to metally force that knee out. Honestly it feels like I go below parallel will have to get a side view to really see. Ag918 thanks for the compliments, I am not sure if the Tats disqualify any RAW events. :slight_smile: I got lucky on the rack here in Houston, wont rust, when you live near the water got to think about those things. I still need 2 more 45’s to make 4 wheels. Then hopefully in a few years I will need 2 more. Getting there.

My right hip fucking kills me after squating, it is better today. Another reason I went to front squat with a narrow stance for awhile, after back squat with wide stance my hip was really killing me for days. Has to be tendonitis just never had it there before.

Glad you took my opinion in the manner in which it was meant. I get a bit worried when asked to comment on the form of others because I don’t want to be too critical, but I don’t want to lie to people either. Personally I’d rather people were hyper critical with me, than complimentary, because I think you can learn alot more from criticism than compliments.

As far as being a farmer? Thats a bit of a joke. I prefer to think of myself as a smallholder. We have just sold all our animals because we are selling our house, but at our peak we had 30 sheep, 6 goats, 8 pigs, 20+ geese, 30+ ducks and about 300 chickens.

Good looking front squats. They looked pretty deep to me, but its very hard to tell from that angle. Also, I sure would like a side angle to see your hand/strap set up at work.

^ Next rotation I will set up with the side view. I was wanting this first time to get a look at my knees if they fell in or not. Honestly they feel deeper than I go on Back squat so I think the depth is good. Just have to video and see. Since I dont have a training partner this will be the only way to get some insight and evaluation by people who know what they are doing.

Thanks for sharing the vids. The quality was a bit murky. Hard to definitively call depth, but I’d say just parallel.

Overall, looking great. Would really like a side angle of the squats, which you’ve already promised for the future.

That’s some good looking FS! Ever done overhead squats? They will fix any balance issues you might have, plus they are excellent WU for old(er) idiots like us.
